Where Is Rush Going To Go Now?

I personally think it would be better for them to pay for play than to let the market shut down.

I know the owner at WNJC. He's a very nice guy but he has to make a living. His station has a nice signal and would be the perfect fit for Limbaugh, Hannity and company.

For the coverage, it would be a good thing. The truth is, these hosts do have an audience and in my opinion it's worth for Clear to pay for the time rather lose the market entirely.

How about Rush & others on 1480--WDAS & 106.1---HD2 ?
Or could clear channel make a deal with Beasley to air Rush & others on
AM800 OR AM 860?

It seems everyone on this board is anti-Rush, Levin, Beck, Hannity and others who fit their mold and rips them non-stop, enough already we get the messasge. I happen to be one of those old, angry, white guys who you constantly bash, who enjoys their shows. So what you are all saying is good riddance to their truth talk. I never hear one of you say anything derogatory about WURD and the hateful venom they spew. I am open to anything you have to say against them or are you all scared to be politically incorrect, the floor is yours.

Randy, whether we like them or not is immaterial to whether or not they stay on the air in Philly. We've explained at length the reasons we don't think they'll be back on the air in the market, and those reasons have nothing to do with our opinions.

Glenn, Rush, and Sean will probably go back to WPHT. The ratings plummeted after they lost those shows. They are probably thrilled at the thought of getting them back again.

WPHT will not air these shows again IMO.

Remember, Captain: Ratings mean nothing, billings mean everything. WPHT is making more of a profit selling more avails at slightly lower rates for local talk instead of paying high clearance fees for shows major agencies don't want their spots in any more.

Certainly looks like CBS has Premier pretty much by the short and curlies. Agreeing that 'PHT is wiser doing without the headaches of carriage fees. Were I to own a station, I, too, wouid pass on such stuff and keep things local. I'm squarely in the demo of Rush's audience but that type of radio gives me a migraine.

Gus Cawley is selling appliances at the Home Depot store in Cherry Hill. He is very much alive and does not wear his toupee anymore.

I called the Cherry Hill store and they told me they don't have an employee with that name. Could he be at another store?

LOL @ "truth talk"

WURD? I don't think anyone listens to them to begin with?

You might do like WMID at the shore and put Rush on an Oldies station and play oldies during the news break like WMID does. I stream WMID on Tunein from my home in Mississippi and I ran across Rush tuning in WMID at the time Rush usually is on.

Makes me wonder why Randy the hangman is so fixated on WURD. The station has its audience; just let it be.

I tuned in once to WURD and listened for a few minutes and moved on. They're just as hateful as Rush/Hannity/Beck, just from the opposite side of the isle. Hate is hate. BS is BS.

What's scary is WHYY has "partnered" with WURD. The station does carry some public radio programming. I hope are not getting CPB money. They do ask for listener contributions and get corporate underwriting. But the on-air content is a lot of "hate Whitey." In PC World, only Whites can be racist.
And to answer the earlier question: Yes, there was some discussion of hate speech on WURD on the earlier version of this site years ago. And yes, nobody listens much. If people talk about Rush more than WURD, it's because Rush has more influence and impact.

Rush/Hannity/Beck have never been hateful.

It's funny how people who don't listen to them think that they are. How the heck would you know if you don't listen? But the fact is, those guys never say anything hateful.

Not everyone! I listen to those shows. They are great. What I find hilarious is that the people who don't like those shows always try to make a false argument that those shows "don't work" or are "failing" when in fact they are three of the most popular shows on radio!

Instead they'll just continue to fail in the ratings??

How does that make sense? WPHT dropped like a rock when they foolishly let Sean and Glenn go. It proved to be their undoing. IQ being sold is the best thing to happen to WPHT because it finally allows them to regain what they foolishly dropped to begin with --- a move that almost killed the station dead. Now they have a chance to regain their former glory.

It's easy to tell who the radio geeks (or "radio enthusiasts," if you prefer) are on this board and who the dittoheads are. One group comes to talk about radio and the other comes to glorify their heroes. The Dittoheads also get stirred up, carpet-bomb the board with posts about their hero and then go away. That's another way to tell.

Nothing sounds hateful to people who agree with it.

The people who listen to IQ will come back to 1210. Where else are they going to go? There was one right-wing talk station. Then there were two. The audience split. When there's one again, the audience will be back. The shows on 1210 are spouting the same line (maybe with a little less hate and a little less glued to the RNC), so what's not to like. Only hard-core ditto-nazis need to hear from Rush Almighty himself.

Sure, Premiere may get some weak stick to carry Rush in a pay to play deal but most people won't know about it and if they do find out, won't be able or willing to listen through all the static.
