WHO HAD 12/18 IN THE WAZY PD POOL?

BillSmith said:
Not sure who the idiot is who's trying to stir stuff up, but let's set the record straight on who was wanting to jump from the best opertation in the Lafayette (Schurz) to the worst (AMP) for whatever reason from a former employee's point of view.

Logan....hmm. Let's do the math....Scotty used to work at Radio Now 93.1 in Indy...so did Logan...both are very good friends...hmm...both would LOVE to work together. You size it up. As far as I know there was only ONE who actually applied for th position. You guess who it was.

Hmm who is the idiot trying to stir something up? Yeah, Let's do the Math, since your in the know, right? Me and Scotty go back farther than Radionow, and yeah I would love to work with the guy, I know what he can do in the right enviorment. But size this up, why in the world would I leave someplace that, 1, gave me my first chance,2, have had no promblems with at all, and 3, get paid a decent amount for this market. Leave that for a pay cut, a place that has seen more PD's in the last year I've been here than I can count, and for a company that I've never heard a single person say a positive thing about, all to work with someone. I don't think so, mama didn't raise no fool. People people people. I never contacted anyone at AMP for a gig, no one there (not even scotty) even hinted at the idea of me jumping ship. I'm not sending out for gigs and if I were Schurz management would be the only ones to know. If you got a smoking gun, lets see it. But since there isn't one I guess you may want to go back and check your math, maybe you forgot to carry a 4 somewhere.

Bill, you're supporting your previous post with some actual info this time around so I appreciate that.
That's what I asked for.

No "jumping all over" anything here. I even went the extra mile and prefaced my comments with hat in hand.
Still didn't work, eh? ;D
You still thought I was being a scumbag even after I approached it apologetically? I tried (sigh).

But then you veer off course with more of that "outing" mentality I have a great disdain for. I wish everyone would stick to the subject without the Joseph McCarthy-type nonsense:
"Who do you work for?"
"Oh, you must be Art Angotti!"
"You sound like a typical jock at Schurz!" or whatever.

If anybody wants to have their identity out there, that's fine. It's not for everyone.

Personally I feel it compromises one's ability to comment on anything: "You're just saying that because you're the midday guy at blah blah blah FM!". Again, God bless you if you want people to know who you are and where you live and work, but I'm not one of them. And the ongoing guessing game is better reserved for IMming or MySpace or something. But not here.

Innuendo is too strong of a word, too, Smitty.
Speculation is a better fit for just wondering out loud who might be leaving where.
We're not attacking your buddies (or really even care about them as much as you do).

So Bill Smith- If you are 'friends' with everyone at Shurz why didnt you mention any of the WASK staff.. I think Matt and Ron are still there..and Jones, Summers, and McGarvey?? Are they all "jumping ship" now too??? What about Skip..or maybe even the Traffic staff??? or Marley or the Cash Cow?? Maybe they are all jumping ship!!!!!

Actually the Cash Cow didn't jump ship. I think the cow jumped over the moon. Sorry.... just a little wacky attempt at humor to lighten the mood here!!

he did leave out Bob Vizza on k105, maybe that's who it is posting these things and causing trouble. Is that you bob causing trouble from your bed at home?

Boy, that was a little uncalled for...

O come on, lighten up, if anyone would laugh at that it would be Bob Vizza, god bless him and I hope he's doing as good as I hear he is. With any luck he'll be back, and if not, wouldn't suprise me one bit if he starts voice trakin from home.

our biz mgr just sed dan is in lima as vice president programming, good job dan

I think the one guy we've forgotten about and that might make the most sense is Marley. And last I heard AMP was looking for a new production guy since Mike Warner is out. So, if this so called rumor is true about someone leaving Schurz for AMP... my money's on Marley. Plus, does Schurz really need two production guys (Gary Michaels & Marley)?

Unless there a strong indication that a Schurz employee's position is to be eliminated...I doubt anyone fulltime will jump ship. If they do.....something is going to happen at Artistic.

I could see a couple parttimers moving over there. Artistic is a revolving door. If they stick it out and survive.....they may work their way up to being PD within a year or two.

You got it, Boiler.

If some kid with a decent voice and work ethic could go fulltime at AMP right now while they are starving for cheap talent, they'd get some PD experience early. Put in a couple of years and get out/get fired with the experience under their belt.

You know what they say, if you don't like the PD at AMP, just wait five minutes.

(Or is that the Indiana weather? Meh...either one).

:-\

I worked at WAZY a while back, and I can tell you that I saw no fewer than four people from KHY, KOA, and even a DJ from XXB interviewing at the station. Apparently, a number of people thought that the star morning show job on WAZY was worth making the switch. Quit deluding yourself, everybody in radio will go for a better or bigger gig if something comes up. If they don't, then they are scared to move or improve themselves.
