Who is already missing sports on TV?

Today, it's the "Sport Stacking Championship." Teams stack things, such as dixie cups.

Later, it's competitive eating. Hamburger eating and Brat eating championships.

It's very compelling. When there's nothing else to watch.

I'm pretty sure this is wrong, but someone on another site said any athlete who got the disease will never play again.

This seems unlikely since most people have mild symptoms. We're always hearing about athletes who played while they had the flu. They recover from that and do just fine.

Rudy Gobert, who acted carelessly by touching every microphone in a press room after being exposed to COVID-19, should be suspended a few games once the NBA resumes for his careless actions. Every other player that tested positive should be able to play right away (unless they have an unrelated injury)

It's been years since I saw Kobayashi in competitive eating. At one time he was the world champ at the Nathan's hot dog eating contest. Then he was banned for some reason. They just showed the 2006 Krystal Hamburger easting contest, which he won. I think it was some sort of world record. 97 burgers. Beating Joey Chestnut. Great entertainer. Absolutely disgusting sport. Makes me hungry. Time for lunch.

He aligned himself with a rival competitive eating league, IIRC. Not sure if the other league still exists, but he's still persona non grata with the group that runs the Nathan's contest and a series of other eating events around the nation.

Now watching the 46th annual Cherry Pit Spitting competition.

Something unique about watching a woman spit a cherry pit for distance.

Not something I normally see in my social group.

ESPN2 to air puppies from 6PM to 12AM tomorrow since it's National Puppie Day. ESPN will air OJ Simpson Made In America this week and they are airing WrestleMania 30, 32 & 35 on Sunday night kinda surprised that isn't on FS1 or USA since those are companies that air WWE Raw on USA Smackdown on Fox. Kinda surprised WWE & AEW hasn't stop airing or the wrestlers have gotten the virus.

NBC Sports regional is airing NBA Games in the form of NBA 2k20

Desperate times call for desperate measures, and that includes televising Washington Wizards game simulations using NBA 2K20 when the NBA season shuts down.

NBC Sports Washington and Monumental Sports Network will be airing one-hour video game simulations of previously scheduled Wizards and Washington Capitals games through Take-Two Interactive’s NBA 2K20 and EA Sports’ NHL 20, respectively, beginning this weekend.

The artificial intelligence gameplay will be presented in alignment with the teams’ remaining schedules of postponed regular-season games, including opponents and dates.

The matchups will be televised on NBCSW, available via its authenticated streaming platforms, and streamed direct-to-consumer on Monumental Sports Network via its website or via any of its available apps on iOS, Android, Roku, Apple TV, Fire TV and Xbox.

IndyCar announced that the Indy 500 will be moving to late August and the road course race at Indy will be moving to 4th of July, possibly setting up a Indy/NASCAR double header for that weekend (unless NASCAR opts to reconfigure the 4th of July weekend date back to Daytona after doing a schedule realignment for this season that was announced this year that Daytona was moved to late August in the middle of hurricane season, which impacts Daytona as it's in a Hurricane prone state).

Kirk Herbstreet is getting beat up on Twitter for saying he'd be surprised if we see the NFL and College football this year.

https://www.tmz.com/2020/03/27/kirk-herbstreit-nfl-football-college/

This is bad for football fans ... ESPN star Kirk Herbstreit says he'd be "shocked" if there was NFL or college football in 2020 -- explaining it's just too dangerous with the COVID-19 pandemic.
The "College Gameday" host went on ESPN radio late Thursday and spelled out why he's so pessimistic about seeing America's biggest sport on the biggest stages.
"I'll be shocked if we have NFL football this fall, if we have college football. I'll be so surprised if that happens," Kirk said.

Mass social distancing now could lead to a breakthrough later (i.e. summer), so I think there's still hope to save the NFL season. MLB is probably toast. NHL is probably toast. NBA is probably toast.
