Kent I agree with you on Movin
DE...you are right when it comes to the 25-54 numbers on WBAP, but that wasn't what I was talking about. WBAP is consistent in it's range of 3.3 to 4.1 and you claimed they were going down 12+ and that is flat out wrong and you can read allaccess just like I can. WBAP targets those most likely to engage in Politics as a likely voter and informed about the World...that target demo is 35-64. While they are going down in the younger demos they are growing at the same pace in the older demos to remain consistent 12+ which they are.
What you failed to mention is that most of the stations in 2003 where getting higher shares in the ratings...KHKS, K104, both Country, KVIL...what have you. HA hA...K104 outbilling WBAP...now that is funny.
DE your simply not getting it...The Patriots had a much better season, but in the last minutes of the SuperBowl the Giants won the upset....In the end the final score was all that mattered...and for WBAP they are beating everybody in the News/Talk and Talk race and that has been consistent for some time and that is why they still have the bragging rights to claim #1 in that whole field. WBAP will also not give up their huge audience in the overnight which numbers in the millions in multiple states due to the Midnight Radio Network the most popular 3rd shift program in the nation and based at WBAP and syndicates nationally to other stations where the signal does not reach. 2nd...Citadel doesn't have another option anyway. If it ain't broke don't fix it.
I'm not addicted to the money demo either because that doesn't give you bragging rights. Someone told me that the Top 6 stations generally have the bragging rights unless you lead your format battle and that is WBAP, the second 6 stations are in the middle, and the bottom 6 should be thinking format change because they are in trouble period.
For example Live 105.3 is #1 with Men that condone or are domestic abusers and not much else.
Seems to me that you don't care about ratings and just about where your revenue is. You are so quick to dismiss the overall ratings as meaningless and the millions of people who depend on WBAP at all times for the Quality they put out. WBAP's final score is stable and strong and beats it's competition by miles and you simply won't acknowledge that. You also won't acknowledge the strong winning streak by KFYI either. Your Co-horts won't convince the CC suits to put KFYI on FM....why...it ain't broke...even if KTAR beat KFYI by .6 in 25-54 that is not a huge lead and if KTAR isn't growing anymore and it isn't 12+...why risk changing KFYI right now. KFYI won at the finish line and you refuse to see that. Actually KTAR used to be more competitive 12+, but now they aren't...Why...they thought FM would solve what their line-up could not...and so far it has failed overall.
In Houston, KTRH is ok...it has struggled with a consistent line-up...that hurts..yes it had a down trend. Still in the final score they were competitive with KRBE and KILT. They will bounce back and get stronger...they don't have any competition to speak of.
