Who is on "the list"?

As Ken, Kim, Dick and Morgan meet the new boss in Dallas today--who will be on the cut list for Asheville, Greensboro, Raleigh and Charlotte? If the rumors are close to true some sales managers, production voices, office staff and veteran salesmen will meet their fates on Friday (1/9). Who knew there was anyone left to cut?

It is sad really, what such a small number of incapable leaders have done to Clear Channel across the state. I know AE's who right now are more capable of generating revenue in the Triad, Charlotte and Raleigh than the Kim, Morgan and Dick. To win and grow in such tough economic times requires so much more than these market managers have. I am neither a fan of nor opposition to CCU. Fact is, we (the industry) could really stand to see them take the reigns and lead for once. Until they replace Market Managers across the board don't hold your breathe on that. Maybe the day is coming - we'll see.

I totally agree with waht you say about Colorado Christian University and about taking a breathe. We should all breathe in this day and age for sure! Thanks for bringing this up and out up to the forefront. I didn't know they were on the air here. :p

Good one Sniff. The skip has to be just right I think to pull them in. It's either skip or "divine intervention".

Hey Spacetruck, I have no idea what you mean, but I still appreciate it! Keep on truckin'.

Waste = throw away

Waist = mid section/where you wear your belt. Just an FYI. Thanks again!! ;D

Thank God! Someone finally told you about the "waist"! Now the other thing you need to do is add an "s" to the end of waste. As in "It wastes your time". Then you'll be all fixed up!

NY Post says 1500 get the axe on Tuesday 1-20.

7% of CC's U.S. workforce.

15 national formats coming, reducing localization. Leave it to CC to drive the nail deeper into the coffin.

Allegedly ONE Format PD will program all stations. Those left at the local level will simply execute the national format/playlists/promotions.

MORE VTing to be put in place and many six figure talent to be whacked, unless they're bringing in enough revenue.

What really matters is whether Randy will be neglected. although Randy has proven that if he has his own Randy, he can take care of himself and his Randy too.

I take no pleasure in writing this, as I HATE being fired and I HURT for people who will be "on the beach" in this economy. However, at many CC stations, after tomorrow, mornings will be the only LIVE airshift. To wit:

at G:
Brody and Geller will be out. Randi may be out. Showgram is untouchable.

At Kiss 93.9:
Almost everyone will be out and look for Kidd Kraddick or Bob and Sheri to be in mornings.

CC Greensboro:
Bill Flynn is in danger and may be booted in favor of Rod Davis' much lower salary. Laura Songster may be ok.
I don't think that Satterfield can save Angie this time and they may both be gone. Roper is the only safe one...for now.
Marsha Gan and anyone who isn't named Pencola may be off the Buzzard.
Any live staff at 105.7.

And any chance of getting John Boy and Billy off of 100.3 is gone for the foreseeable future.

I thought Angie had moved to Mornings with the new guy on WTQR. I agree that Flynn could be in trouble, but I feel sure the man has saved his money and he'll be fine. It's hard to imagine WMAG without Bill Flynn, though. Rod's been voicetraking for a long time now, so he's pretty valuable to CC, so you're probably right that he'll stay. Laura Songster is an "insider" with the new GM, so I think she'll be safe. Why do you think Pencola will stay? Is he full-time or part-time?
