Who is the Best and Worst on Long Island?

So what happened to Glenn M. and the GM and sales Manager?

I was unaware that Glenn was gone, that must have been recent.

Steve Hobbs the GM, was fired about a year ago, sometimes even sharks get eaten by bigger meaner sharks!

The sales manager? I dont know anything about that.

How could they ask Tony to leave but keep talent like Jen and Dave??? Truly they are the worst!

Tonys doing fine, working in Jersey somewhere.
I dont know why they keep them, but Im glad they do!!! ;D

I agree the music is great.

Glad to hear about Hobbs....he deserved it.

But...
"I dont know why they keep them, but Im glad they do!!!"
HUH??
Have you listened to those two?
Half the people I know who love the music on RCN tune out in the mornings specifically because of them!
Why your vested interest?

Why your vested interest?

None, but no one likes to see someone lose their gig, and both kids as you say are hard working people, Dave is a good guy, and works hard. If you dont like them tune away, once again Im glad to see them working.

c-yaaaa

I have tuned away, so has most of the listeners because of the terrible morning show. Don't want anyone to lose a job, but why deliver a crummy product to us listeners?
Jen (Moran) Darcy DOES NOT work hard. Please.

Nice to see ol' RCN get so many postings. IMHO, Kaptain Kevin is the one voice on 'RCN that I look forward to hearing (since Chaz & AJ's departure to 'PLR in Connecticut).

See NJ boards RE: Tony Paige at 'DHA, another station that was a standout Rocker that I used to go out of my way to listen to.

AMEN!!!!!!

WNYH -740 doesn't have to sound like the train wreck it is. First, check the audio out to see if it's crappy or if the on-air is being blown away by digital carriers from WOR-710 or WABC-770. Next, get the legal ID's back at the top of the hour. I'd then broaden the playlist and perhaps do some theme programs, much like CHWO Toronto does. Get some personality on the place and banish the infomercials. Do call-ins. As a last resort, it could again become a sister to WHLI. But what a waste of 20 kW....We'd kill to have that at WVCH.

Well said, but the problem is, WNYH doesn't seem to have any intention of being a music station. It was supposed to be brokered through and through, but it's owned by someone who merely seems to have money to toss around and likes to "play radio." I'm not really sure how to explain how they haven't been able to sell brokered time, but that seems to be the case. So if anything, the music will be banished if they manage to sell the rest of their airtime...not the other way around (unfortunately).

While 740 has no evening signal to speak of, I find it interesting that none of the brokered programs formerly broadcast from WLIE in the evenings haven't made their way to 740 during the day. I'm surprised that with such a good daytime signal at WNYH, no one seems to be biting.

A producer of one of those shows told me the WNYH management is asking for too much money for a station that doesn't carry the clout and signal that WLIE did.
