Who will be there at 5AM on Channel 8?

Re: The Adams Family News Hour

I doubt she will be leaving WFAA now or in the next few years. Why? On paper she is hispanic, and the hispanic population is growing.2) She is a strong woman anchor compared to Jane and Clarice. With all the dismissals and shakeups with on air personnel(Unfortunately not management)Her disappearance would scuttle any rebuilding of WFAA.
The morning slot is deplorable. The one negative personality is still there while others are callously dismissed. Alexa must be Kathy Hill's personal favorite, etc. Gary Cogill if you watch closely wishes he was just crtiquing movies and is not comfortable with "Morticia"standing next to him. I actually believe Scott Sams was the glue that held that show together. The only other person who excelled in that slot was Bob Brown in the 70's and 80's along with his wife(now romnatic novelist). It is sad to see( as we have heard and witnessed so many times in the last few years alone)another legendary station known for its quality and uniquness go to hell in a hand basket by those who never understood the concept of basic programming skills.

What was your opinion of Quin Mathews when he anchored the morning news on Channel 8?

You may be thinking of Michael Brown and his wife Sandra--and she is quite a writer. There was indeed a Bob Brown at Channel 8 prior to the "other Browns"
and he joined ABC News working primarily on 20/20 segments.

Ed's response should be worth hearing on Matthews. From my perspective, Matthews did an outstanding job, but somehow it seemed he wasn't all that well received by the management and others at Channel 8. He is an accomplished musician and did a good job bringing his many talents and insights together to form a good on-air presence for the station. As I recall he did well in the DMN annual TV talent poll. He seems to have drifted away from the public eye.

To Nuzguy: You're right it was Micheal Brown. Bob Brown worked at NBC

On Quin Matthews; He was good, though a bit serious and stilted. He is a newsman.
