I understand the appeal here to a point, but I don't think too many people want to hear wall-to-wall Christmas music until just a few days before the 25th. It would make more sense to pepper in holiday favorites as Christmas draws closer. Start with 1 holiday song per hour and ramp it up to 3/4 holiday tunes a week or two out - then go all-Christmas about 7-10 days before the actual day. Why completely abandon the classic hits that contribute to your ratings for 11 months a year, only to drop Christmas music before Christmas day is even over?
If the ratings and revenue work with all Christmas (which it does) AND they can retain their ratings the other 10 1/2 - 11 months, then your argument is moot.
