WHO WILL GO ALL-CHRISTMAS FIRST? WODS OR WROR?

Here in Connecticut, WDRC-FM is including its Christmas songs in the annual "Big D, A to Z" music-library blowout. Yep, "Do I Do," "Do It Again," (Beach Boys) "Do It Again," (Steely Dan), "Do It Til You're Satisfied," "Do That to Me One More Time," "Do They Know It's Christmas," "Do Wah Diddy Diddy," "Do Ya".... I'm afraid "Dominick the Donkey" isn't far off. The whole thing should be over in 10 or 11 days (It ran for just over eight last year, but adding '80s and Christmas titles have bloated it considerably.), and the Christmas tunes will be rested until next day-after-Thanksgiving.

Nashville's Mix 92.9 is still playing a healthy average of 10-12 Christmas songs every hour or two during their regular playlist.

Why not just use WODS/CBS Radio's all-Christmas channel, which is available online at wods.com all year? You can get your "Caroling Caroling" fix on the Fourth of July if you want to. What's so special about being able to hear a radio station that's mixing Christmas music with its regular fare a few days after the holiday?
 
Normally I'd respond to this by saying it's way too eartly. But this has been such a hot, dry, miserable summer(at least out here in central Mass) that a little cold weather talk is welcome.

Listen...during late December, and almost all of January and February, I look forward to this kind of weather and don't mind it a bit.
 
Same here. And also November and maybe March and April too. This IS New England after all. ;D

I'm in central Mass too, Art, and I've had no problems with the weather this summer other than it's turned out to be rainy and/or cloudy on the occasional day I've taken off (not including weekends).
 
me2 jeez it gets earlier and earlier every year i already saw a little tiny section at rite aid of xmas,halloween stuff.
 
one of my former co workers commented on her FB page that she went into one of those chain Arts & Crafts stores and the Christmas stuff was already out.
 
Doesn't matter to me, with the option of Satellite radio, I could care less who starts when.  But I say maybe Halloween this year and maybe seeing some kids dressing up as Santa.  Maybe some radio stations will have contests and give prizes to kids who dress as Santa.  As stupid as this all Christmas thing is for stations to do (in many people's opinions) it's all about the almighty add revenue and ratings, and they will do whatever it takes to make that fast cash.  So let them.  We don't have to listen.  Another reason to check out Satellite radio, and I am sure at that time of year, more people are considering it, and those who have it are thankful they do.  I could give a crap about ratings, because that's the only thing a corporate owned station cares about, they don't care about the listeners (except the ones who listen regardless of whatever is played), they only care about the $$.  If it sells, it plays, and that is it.  Whatever listeners they have, seem to be enough to give them the sales and ratings they need.  I will not be stuck with what's on corporate owned radio.  As soon as 103.3 WODS goes Christmas, it's 630 WPRO, 1030 WBZ, Fun 107 (107.1), B101, or Satellite.  However, I will enjoy some Christmas music....sometimes, especially closer to the holiday.

So, you must subscribe to a satellite radio service that's not corporate owned. Which service?
