WHO WILL GO ALL-CHRISTMAS FIRST? WODS OR WROR?

Hey, I just noticed that it looks like both WSNE and WSRS are playing the exact same songs! I know this was the case in previous years when they both went all Christmas. And B101 played the same songs as WSRS the year they went.

I was listening to a Detroit station last lear that played the same songs as Wsrs at the same time...WSNE, WSRS, & that Detroit station I was listening to are all Clear Channel stations...They must play a precoreded playlist

Are you thinking of WNIC? That's Clear Channel.

Yes thats exactly who it is

Welcome to CC's "Premium Choice" Christmas. One playlist, dozens of stations. WERZ/Portsmouth will probably pick it up soon. Not sure if WHYN-FM/Springfield does the all-Christmas format but if they do, the same thing applies. At least with WODS and WROR they are (as far as I can guess) locally programmed holiday playlists...

As a Christian I object to it too Nick, which is why whatever station flips I delete off my presets until 1/1/2011

XM23 flipped today

XM does have a Hanukkah channel for equal representation.

i believe maybe there waiting till it feels like xmas!! its still inthe 50s by day not xmas weather maybe by the time the first snow flies!!!

Off my pre-sets. I was noting the headline on radio-info about KOST going Christmas and was going to post "the usual stations here will probably flip soon too" (I had predicted last Fri or last Mon)

http://www.bostonradiowatch.com had a poll (results below) as to when they'd flip. (It also
says ODS followed ROR 11 minutes later after commercial break etc. Note Nov 18 is among the
smallest vote getters

>>November 12 (47%)
November 14 (5%)
November 15 (16%)
November 16 (2%)

November 17 (1%)

November 18 (4%)

November 19 (21%)

So who flipped first? And do these two stations wait for each other to make the decision thinking the other will flip right away if they pull the trigger?

Was reported ROR at 8:11, ODS at 8:22

http://www.bostonradiowatch.com

>>Crosstown rival WROR 105.7 was the first one out of the gate at 8:11am with Nat King Cole's classic "The Christmas Song(Merry Christmas to You)". At 8:22, WODS 103.3 came out of its commercial break and joined the party with Jose Feliciano's "Feliz Navidad".

Did anyone happen to be listening at the time it happened? I know that in the past, Santa would make an appearance on WODS to announce and flip the switch. Did this happen today?

No money in the budget for Santa this year. Karen did the honors.

Unlike WODS, WROR has shifted (an automated version of) their regular '60s, '70s, '80s classic hits format to their HD-2 subchannel. Their usual HD-2 "Nothing But The '70s" channel appears to be on hiatus until after Yuletide. WODS is still running their usual HD subchannels.

I stopped listening to both stations regularly a couple of years ago when one or both started flipping this early or earlier.

It allowed me to sample other stations and I ended up with Mike-FM as my favorite station which it still is to this day.

By the way, we gonna use this year old thread every year from now on?? ;D
