So, now that the 3 month old show that really was just inaudible Eddie Money trying to speak is over. Who will replace him?
-Randy and Spiff
-Steve McCoy
-Kady Keily
-Regular Guys (if Rock 100.5 switches formats)
-Jimmy Baron
Those are the possibilities that I thought of. Think of any more?
Randy & Spiff--too "old" for what is trying to be a younger/harder-sounding, music-focused classic rock station.
Steve McCoy--See above. Kind of reminds me of the old classic rock Z93 replacing The Greaseman with Gary McKee. It just didn't work with the format, with Gary having been on CHR/AC pretty much his entire career. But he is headed back to the ATL...
Kaedy Kiely--It worked before and would work again. Having KK in midday is a waste of her talent. PM drive is her natural habitat, but AM drive also works, especially if you want a low-talk, more-rock alternative.
TRG--It would work, but it would also be quite a departure for the music-centric River. I would only do this if River were struggling in AM drive.
Jimmy Baron--Worth a try; with KK in another daypart River could add more personality with JB as knowledgeable curators of the classic hits format, especially since River is moving farther afield with harder and deeper stuff.
Is JJ Jackson (96 Rock/Z93/Lake 102/Sunny 100/Eagle?) still around? How about Tim Rhodes? Who did "Traffic Jam & Jokes" in PM drive on Z93? I take it Mark McCain has hung up his cans, and he was too topical for River (which also ixnays Christopher Rude). With the direction River is going some old Z93/96 Rock alumni would be ideal.
Eddie Money wasn't only recorded, it was recorded badly. Cox should be ashamed of themselves.
