What does Kaedy bring to the table. I know she has a great voice, but what about content?
She knows more interesting factoids about songs and artists than most of us will ever know. And she presents them in an entertaining and interesting fashion.

For a music-centric morning show, her wealth of knowledge and presentation is perfect.

Yes, and that's exactly what midday/afternoon drive is for. How many times will stations like The River and Dave try to build their morning drive programming around music before they realize it has never and will never work? Music intensive shows are not what the masses listen to in the morning, long-term. Can anyone on this board provide an example that disproves that?

Kaedy's morning show has been pretty much music intensive. She inserts some things and has some features, but overall the show has been music intensive. In the case of The River, I think it's the right strategy.

A shock jock is not going to play well with River's audience, and won't compete favorably with TRG. And John Boy & Billy isn't going to play well in ATL. 96 Rock tried them and crashed and burned with them.

How does River do in AM drive compared to their other dayparts--keeping in mind that AM drive has been in flux for them?

The regular guys are vulnerable. If the right jock came along I think the regular guys would be no more. With good competition they would vanish.

Roddy, how can you say it's the right strategy? Their morning ratings are in the toilet. If memory serves me, they had a brief period a year or so ago when they were okay but that station has never had great morning numbers overall. It might be the right strategy for their P1's but they can't just program morning drive to your P1's. There clearly aren't enough of them.
