Who Wins The Law Suit ?

You people know I don't like MJ or Bubba, however I now wanna see MJ prevail in the trial. In the beginning, the law suit was a joke and a waste of tax money. I am not excusing Phil Campbell's DUI charge, but Stephen and Joe Diaco should be disbarred for their actions outside court. Setting up MJ's lead counsel was very low. I'm wondering how much Bubba offered the Diacos to risk their law careers? There is noway Bubba can spin Phil Campbell's entrapment and still look good. We all know Bubba's show draws solid ratings for Cox, however the brass in Atlanta cannot be happy with these events. Bubba is a liability to Cox win or lose the trial. Don't be surprised if Cowhead moves to mornings. Spice had to testify at trial, but he's also grown tired of Bubba's behavior.

A little reality here.

Regardless of who you support these are the facts:

1) MJ is a public figure ( no one questions that ) and he has brought his wife onto the air many times. She could have refused to appear on the show but she didn't. Therefore, MJ and his wife both sought the public eye and are public figures by virtue of their public appearances on 93.3. Sure, she may have appeared on the station to keep peace at home but she also had the right not to and yet she did . She is personally responsible for becoming a public figure.

2) The attorny who got the DUI is an adult. No one claims he was forced to drink alcohol and he has a record of driving under the influence before. The police have every right to stop somone who they believe is driving drunk and yes they must and should check out every report of a DUI. As a citizen everyone has the responsibility to report an instance of driving under the influence makes no difference if your an attorny, businessman or beach bum. For an attorny to not report such a happening is irresponsible

No one was " set up " each player is personally responsible for the situation they are in. To blame Bubba or the Deocos or anyone else is to refuse to accept responsibility for themselves. End of song.

I've already mentioned my dislike for both participants in the trial. Phil Campbell should also face formal actions by the Florida State Bar Association for the DUI. I didn't think the Diacos would stoop so low to win the trial. Honor and dignity is out the window, here.

bubba is a loser who films hulk hogan sexual activities what a loser!!

How does clear channel even put schnitt back on the air after this? win or lose he comes across as a whiny, whiny, female dog. Now we find out too that he had done this before in a market in virginia.

It kind of reminds me of the wrestling event in sanford last week where one of the wrestlers called police because his opponent 'went off script.' It's radio, if you don't have a thick skin go sell cars.

The ratings for his show are in the pits anyhow - as a conservative i have tried to listen, but can't stand his takes or voice - and his credibility now is even lower than it was before this circus.

Bubba's probably gonna win the law suit. This case should be in the hands of the jury this afternoon. I would still like to see the Florida Bar Association suspend Stephen and Joe Diaco's privileges to practice law. Their poor conduct did take place outside court but it should not be overlooked. Chief Jane Castor should also be questioning why one of her Sergeants is taking marching orders from the Diacos. I believe some people got paid to setup Phil Campbell. Now, we really know why Bubba has his charity foundation. Yes, Bubba does pay the funeral expenses of fallen officers and that's commendable, but his foundation is also self serving. I believe Bubba will soon be off the air. He's been on the air talking about the trial, and Cox corporate office cannot be happy with these events win or loose the trial.

Mr. campbell is an adult, did someone hold him down and pour the drink down his throat? did someone force him to move the car? Biggest problem in this country - people are not held accountable for their actions.

as for the diacos, they are attorneys - they all do shady crap in the best interests of their clients. a sanction perhaps, disbarred? puh-leese........see my accountability comment. they will just muddy the waters to create 'reasonable doubt' about what they knew and when. very sad people stoop to such levels.

TPD chief castor is none too happy her department got dragged into this circus. i do agree cox is probably growing tired of mr. clem.

can't help but chuckle at a radio wars trial with testimony featuring spice boy, jabber jaw, bubba, mj and bj........

what a mess!

What about Ned? :D

By the way, closing arguments are finished; jury deliberation is expected to commence this afternoon.

I've been told Cox settled with MJ out of court. I can't be sure if that's true, however Bubba maybe on his own in this trial. Does anyone know if MJ also filed a suit against Cox? I can't find a link to the story.

If I was a juror I'd probably rule in favor of MJ. It's not right nor should it be legal to tell your "Bubba's Army" to harass someone just because you don't personally like them. There's too many nut cases out there who could take it to extremes. Not to mention who are these people in this Bubba's Army that will harass anyone Bubba tells them to? What are they.. 10 years old? Mentally anyway.

MJ loses...

Because no one really won here. A boatload of taxpayer money wasted.

Where does Schnitt go from here? IMO, his 'broadcaster in good standing' doesn't really apply here anymore.

Re: MJ loses...

I agree with Bubba when he says that Schnitt is a public figure and Bubba's insults were fair play especially considering Schnitt trash talks people as well. But where I thought Bubba went over the line was in telling his Army to harass Schnitt in public whenever they saw him. I didn't read the charges, though, and don't even know if that was part of the case.

Re: MJ loses...

They both broke the Law of Journalism: don't become the story.

I will not listen to either one anymore.

To have a radio stunt is one thing. Making it a court case on purpose is quite different.

The idea was always to take it just to the edge. They not only took it over the edge, but they were buying tickets with lawyers attached.

Not good!

The whole thing was despicable!

It was not good radio on either side. This is not what they get paid for!

Re: MJ loses...

Can't stand or listen to either one of them.. Just glad it's all over and hopefully the story will just die...

Of course, neither is a journalist. They're just second-tier radio personalities doing what second-tier radio personalities do -- draw attention to themselves.
