Who's got a good morning show?

The Bert Show on All The Hits Q100 is the best morning show ever, I love them!

Steve and Vickie

1.) They're institutions with a track record few have ever obtained or maintained.
2.) They've managed (well Steve has) managed to be funny and original for nearly 30 years
about 48 weeks a year minimum and not burnout like 99.9% of the rest of the world's
radio and non-radio comedians. This is unfair to the lame talent who works at drive thrus.

7.) They take the high road. They never would say anything "horrible" about anyone else unless it was part of the prank, etc. They are class acts and all around really nice, normal make that great people who have made alot of people smile, laugh and chill in a world full
of people who refuse to see anything except the horrible side of life.

Most of us would love to be that "horrible." [/i] And they smell pretty!

RTibbs, I'd really love to sit down with you and have a beer while you explain funny to me if you ascribe it to Steve and Vicki

Right on millhouse. I don't know if you are a listener or in the biz, but your maturity in identifying talent is solid. Your reasons for choosing S&V are logical and show your understanding of what it really takes to own a position.

Just for clarification. It was Tibbs2 not me who said they were funny. I got scared for a minute and wonder how I could ever say such a thing. I thought I might need to stop self-medicating. But I am always free for a beer.

What happened to 3, 4, 5, & 6? ??? ;)

Any morning show that tries to develop a relationship with its listeners, talk to them as real people, not cater to the "shock jock" mentality, run fun and entertaining promotions and make everyone who listens feel like they are a part of the best thing in the world each morning...that is a good morning show.

Sadly, as long as the term "corporate-owned radio" is attached to any broadcasting entity, we will never again hear a GOOD morning show. In my mind the best show going is a toss up between two...and you may think I'm crazy but this is only MY opinion.

I like Bill Bennett on WGKA. Sure he's nationally syndicated but he's about the most enjoyable thing on radio...but only on Fridays. That's the day he lets go and does this music contest thing and it's just fun to listen to.

The other show would have to be Rhubarb, Dallas and Southside Steve on Eagle. Adding Steve was a great shot in the arm.

Sadly, most of the other morning shows I just don't care for but, I don't listen to radio anymore for the "jocks, shows" or whomever the stations hire to talk. I listen for music. I get what I want when they decide to play it. If they don't I listen to a CD. Radio has forgotton how to get people excited about what they're playing and why. Making money is good. Quality broadcasting is better. Spending most of what you make to broadcast a quality product will only guarantee you more money. Of course you must spend wisely but, you can make it happen.

To all the radio folks out there who read this...you can agree, disagree or whatever but if you don't stand up and do something about this, an institution you love will soon totally die. The best morning show in Atlanta can be yours...just do what made early radio morning shows great. Never forget that your listeners are the ONLY REASON YOU CRACK OPEN A MIC. Give them your best and if you don't have it, find a way to get better or get out.

We need a radio revolution. The time is right for us to now say, "I'm mad as he** and I'm not going to take it anymore!"

Oh, and Steve and Vikki are not too bad but I'd rather see Cindy and Ray do mornings. That would be fun.

When I used to live in Atlanta, my favorite morning shows were Atlanta's Morning News with Scott Slade followed by Neal Boortz on News/Talk 750 WSB. The morning shows were especially great before Boortz went syndicated. Often Boortz would be in the studio with Scott Slade and would crack comments about the news as he read it. Some of the comments were total hillarity. I still get to listen to syndicated Boortz here in Paintsville, KY on AM 600 WKYH, but it just isn't the same.

Q100-Bert Show- 790 The Zone-Mayem in the AM- Hot 107.9-A Team

Steve and Vikki are old and tired just like their station! perfect fit for them though

Kelly and Alpha (and Christy and Will and new board operator Buford) on B98.5 are pretty good. They are just like Randy and Spiff, only much toned down.

If B98.5 were in need of a morning show, then I would recommend Steve and Vikki. They are more of an AC morning show then a top 40. I don't think Kelly and Alpha are going anywhere soon.

Kelly and Alpha <<<>>> Steve and Vikki.

Yes. These two shows collect the most snarky comments by the immature know-it-alls and pseudo hipsters on this board. Truth be told-- K&A and S&V are the solid, professional, consistent performers by which all others should measure their careers. There is a reason they keep going and going. They know what they are doing and know their audience.
