Who's your favorite Columbus Jock?

I like the one dude on the pirate station on 91.7...always talking about the jihad. They broadcast somwhere near NBC 4. Maybe they're on 91.9 now since 91.5 went on. Where's the FCC?

Mo on 99.7
You know willcail, if you have a have a radio with a detachable dipole antenna, and I know you do, then remove said antenna, head over to the local radio shack and get yourself a handy dandy C Crane FM reflective antenna, take the two ends and fold them in to a loop and use twist ties to hold the loop in place, then get 6 to 12 inches of coaxial cable and connect it to the radio RF port… Are you with me so far? Get a male to male or splitter and connect the coaxial cable to the output port, then connect the FM reflective antenna to the input port. Now turn the power on and walk around your 4th floor downtown apartment until you pick up Mo on 99.7.

Way cool! OTOH, this could be conscrued as offensive to those who are dipolar, detached, male-to-male, or can't swing 6-12 inches.

But I won't alert the moderator if you will divulge the secret for picking up Jo Robinson or Suzy Waud, mentioned a few posts further down.

So sorry Noo Roo cause I know you don't like 933, but I like Amy Donovan and the guy that does disco Saturdays Kevin. I like Andy Clark and the guy that subs for Andy sometimes around Christmas and just recently, and I like the oldies with Chuck Gillespie on Friday. There I said it, I'm so brave!

Actually, I have noooo problem with the air talent on 93.3, just the music.

And as much as I bristle at their regular format as a duplicative, royal waste of that signal (even for the intended demo), I actually think 93.3's Friday night mix is GREAT. C'mon JbC, why not 24/7 for that?? If stuff like that can work bigtime 24/7 in other markets, isn't even worth a try here??? It's not as if you'd be blowing up a powerhouse franchise. You know that 93.3's usual post-Xmas tumble is coming, anyway...

Michael O'Malley, Tom Kelly, Mark Daniels, Suzy Waud, Dave Ryan, Kevin James, Adam Cook, Andy Clark, Dave Logan, Joe Kelly ...

Shall I keep going? :D

I'd guess you're 43-45 years old and grew up with 92x. Those were great days! (and you forgot Greg Jordan.)

Yep...46. I moved to Columbus in 1984 from the Cleveland area. So, I could have mentioned people like Danny Wright, Joe Bohannon, Kid Leo, Denny Sanders, Brandy Kellogg, Jim King.. but hey. I'm still working on my memory.

But, I really did like 92X back in the day. I also liked Magic 99.7. Also, 93.7 (when it was the SuperQ) was great because I could listen all the way from Columbus north to I-90 on the East side of Cleveland. WNCI was decent until the early 90's. I lost interest in local radio when CC was going for the canned voice-tracking stuff.

Now, I mostly listen to satellite. It's pretty rare that I listen to anything local other than for some traffic and weather. I realize that satellite is mostly voice-tracked on the music channels, but at least I get to hear some great DJ's such as Alan Hunter, Martha Quinn, Nina Blackwood on the 80's channel. And, Spyder Harrison who was (if my memory is correct) at WHTZ in the 80s as well. There's a political talker called POTUS on Sirius 110 that doesn't grate on my last nerve the way anyone on 610 or 103.9 does.
