Re-Mix?
I agree that it's great to hear them "Get Back" to more of a classic hits format. Perhaps they looked at the fact that they were 3rd in a 3 horse AC race, and began to figure out that the numbers they had a couple of years ago were better than what they've got now. Maybe they'll do something truly revolutionary and go with a "sound" instead of an era.
I'd love to hear a station that played great pop/rock without the disco, grunge, '80s electro-dance-pop, or whiny women of any era. It would even be interesting to hear some of the newer music of core artists that never makes it to the airwaves today. James Taylor, Carole King, Paul McCartney, and Paul Simon have all produced records in the last decade. Wouldn't it be nice to know what they sound like? I also wouldn't throw out newer artists who have the right "sound". Sheryl Crow and KT Tunstall come to mind as artists who fit "the sound".
I'm not sure what the deal was with their regulars on Sunday. I heard Tony Venteroli on Saturday, so the part-timers were on part of the weekend. I also heard Brian Walker on both Thursday and Friday in PM Drive, so maybe there were some other factors "mixed" into the scheduling. I guess we'll have to wait and see, huh?
