Why do religious stations fail in ENC?

sam1 is correct. Wilson is held hostage with bozos somehow that the FCC let them get the stations. No market needs 4 "religious" stations even in the Bible Belt. All of them be challenged with the "in public interest" and lose. I bet none keep up there FCC files up to date or proper maintance of the plants. Sad AM is not worth doing. But Wilson's are a toxic waste dump now.

The reason any station fails, is the people. From the management down to the janitor (engineer). Most people in radio today are not "radio people". They don't understand what has to be done to be successful. It's a simple as that. If any of the "Wilson" stations had "passionate radio people" heading them, they would be successful.

There may be a bit of "wishful thinking" going on, Sam1. I don't care how PASSIONATE you are about radio, if you don't have comprehension and skills about sales, you may fail. If you don't have good 'people management skills' you may fail even though you are passionate about radio. If you can't read a financial statement and understand the "facts of life" about making business changes, radio passion will not save you. Life tends to be a bit messy and complex.
