WHY DON'T WE HAVE A GOOD HAWAIIAN MUSIC STATION?

I think we need a good German station here in Houston, but you need to kick it off during Oktoberfest.

this thread is a joke. well why we are at it, why dont we have a station of the different sounds different animals make while having sex.

this thread is a joke.

Uh.......yeah it is. What gave it away? Have you considered a career in private investigation?

For the rest of you....

I checked out both the hawaiian105.com and the bowling radio links and I was impressed with both of 'em. hawaiian105 actually had played "Tiny Bubbles" in their last ten songs played. So yes you can say Don Ho on the radio. Also, I think there was some confusion regarding our bowling format. The bowling radio website is offering music programming for bowling alleys. (And I'm sure that they use at least a 1000 watt signal so that all the bowlers in the alley can hear them) I think we're talking about broadcasting the actual games, and not music. Are we not? Well, except that is for the background polka/hawaiian/tv themes/dance/active rock music that would be on in the alley during the games. Right? I can't find a single station on the web that does that.

Oh and I love the "Bucket O' Poi" promotion idea!!!!

Dang Colonel,

You've been rather busy doing your homework, but then I guess that's why you're the Colonel. ;D

"Private Investigator".... Now that's there's funny 8)

Too bad this out of the box thinking can't be shoved back in the radio business again. I wouldn't recommend dropping frozen turkeys from a helicopter again, though!

I hate to correct the Colonel, but Nessman didn't say that line.. .it was The Big Guy, Arthur Carlson... I just downloaded the episode on I-tunes last week. (without the original music)

kevin

Kevin,

I stand corrected. Thank you. It was still one of my favorite episodes. You know who the Big Guy reminded me of? Steve Shepard (was that his name?) who used to be our GM at KLDE.

That's all I need is CC beating me to death with Don Ho (god rest his soul) ! Please for the love of god! expand the playlist on the buzz!!!!!!!!!!!! It's the only station I can pick up in my building and if I hear that finger eleven song one more time I am going to go postal!!!

Actually the idea of providing quality programing to a number of underserved ethnic groups could work, at the least on weekends.

You are correct about Shepard. Lots of similar character traits.

Is he still around? I know he was retired and doing voice work several years ago.

Perhaps Kiran Ahluwalia performing various ghazals would be a welcomed change to the alarm clock buzzer.
Lunch with Four Men and a Dog's first album randomly playing in the background.
Shoot, I'd listen to it.

Hey Colonel/KevinC,

Don't forget.... Christmas is just around the corner.... "All Hawiian/Bowling Alley/Polka/TV Themes Christmas Music All The Time". Gotta be competative with Sunny 99.1 & the Point (If what is thought will happen Monday, happens).
