Why is 92.5 censoring lyrics on songs

You're right about A Boy Named Sue. But I remember ALL stations bleeped that part because the tune came out that way. I don't think I ever knew what Cash was saying for sure in the bleeped part

That line was "Cause I'm the Son of a Bit-- that named you Sue!".

In 1978 growing up in Oklahoma I remember WKY playing a homemade edited version of "Life In The Fast Lane" that chopped out the offensive lines without beat matching the tempo. It sounded like a record skipping.

And I remember hearing in 1976 a edited version of Hall & Oates "Rich Girl" that replaced "It's a Bit-- Girl" with "You're a Rich Girl". Was this a station edit or did RCA release a censored promo 45?

Johnny Cash "A Boy Named Sue"..on the radio as "I'm the BEEEEEP that named you Sue". Timothy by the Buoys: (about cannabalism no less): "Hungry as BEEEEP no food to eat". Just a couple of examples.

i think the label bleeped it on the singles..my memory may be wrong but i had the single and i remember it being bleeped.

Rewind 94.9 plays the edited version of Rich Girl, audio quality of the song is pretty bad too.

I kinda thought of the BEEEP as part of the song "A Boy named Sue". I have heard the version without it.

i can`t say for sure but i think the album cut is uncensered and the single is bleeped.
