Why is The Wizard of Oz...

Also,  I've noticed non-cartoons on Nick toons.  Drake & Josh are now on Nick Toons in the morning while Zoey 101 is on Teen Nick.  (I have a 6 year old daughter that's why I know this.)  Just as the name implies, shouldn't Nick Toons only show cartoons and live action shows be shown on one of Nick's other channels?

Nick Toons should only run cartoons. Nick has a lot of classic cartoons to air; Rugrats, Doug, etc... I don't understand why they don't. Turner still runs classic cartoons on Boomerang with Johnny Quest, Flinstones, Jesitens, and so on...

unfortunatly it seems the days of cable channels specalizing on one thing are going away totally.

I know that if I turn on Boomerang that there will be a cartoon on for my children to watch. My 6 year old daughter gets a kick out of the fact that I watch a lot of these cartoons when I was a child. However, she finds it hard to believe that I had the choice of 8 TV channels when I was her age, the 3 networks, 2 PBS stations, and 3 ind. UHF channels.

And all of them had something interesting to watch.

when i was a kid we had 4 channels and all were interesting programingwise in those days.we got our 5th channel 1n 1969 or 1970 when i waw 18 or 19.

It was amazing how, in a 4 to 6 channel universe (depending on where we lived), there was always something good on TV. Sometimes, more than one good show and you had to choose. Every night of the week, there was one network or another that had a killer lineup.

Now, with digital cable, there are literally 300+ channels and often there isn't one good show on. There are 'watchable' things (meaning tolerable) on most of the time, but only a couple of times a week is anything on that I'd consider to be "appointment" viewing.

That's a far cry from what TV was like in 1971 or 1976 or 1980 or 1986 or even 1993. For me, the explosion of reality show crap was when it ended.

Or VHIC because Dorothy's pooch is named Toto. Or FMC because... well, never mind.

I meant VH1C and FNC. Sorry, I was in a hurry to finish posting and get off to work yesterday.

Thanks for clearing that up, as there is both an FNC and FMC (Fox Movie Channel). But since "Oz" is from the MGM library, it likely wouldn't air on FMC in the first place. TCM, maybe...
