Believe me, Emmis has a long history of making moves that, at least, appear to have been made at the spur of the moment that ultimately DIDN'T work: Howard Stern? Return of Adam Smasher to a lame WNAP? The parade of morning shows on WENS before they finally dropped the call letters completely?
You think they spent hundreds of thousands of dollars just to stick with Jake and Terri in the morning and The Speedway Hillbillies in the afternoon? Yeah, that was money well spent. I don't think the older demos that listened to WIBC-AM even know how to find the FM band and the younger demos they hope to get by going to FM aren't going to be excited about Garrison and Rush. And as for Wilson appealing to a younger audience, it's a generation that's used to Dane Cook, South Park and The Daily Show. That cornpone that passes for a radio show isn't gonna cut it.
