OMG! OMG! OMG! OMG! ::)

CHR2. Alternative "rock" has been long dead & buried.

Yawn.

Can CC (or any one) sell Alternative in Atlanta?

Well, it looks like they will try and appease some of the old "Dave" and "99x" listeners. Looks to be strategic, to prevent a relaunch of "99X' by Cumulus, or keep "Rock 100.5" from overtaking one of CC's stations. Why? WHY NOT! Again, I was hoping for a relaunch of "Peach" on 105.7, but Alternative skews younger, so CC was looking at the dollar signs.

Hey, it's worth a shot, compared to having one station get wrecked by another with the same format.

Wow! Now this is a real surprise, since I figured CC would take this Adult or Classic Hits. And hopefully the "Radio" domain means that this station won't be ran from Premium Choice.

While CC tends to do less voice-tracking/premium choice in major markets then minor markets, I still think they will run at least overnights and weekends from PC.

I was also surprised by this news. Hopefully, if it is alternative, the music mix is decent.

Also, we have to recognize that, in August, we were thinking that "Project" was just going to move to 105.3. CC shafted Alternative listeners there, or chickened out at the last second.

I'm not sure if Wild's Midday DJ (Dreena Gomez) is VTed or not, but she was just on the air, promoting Rihanna Tickets. Either she is VTed, CC is doing a good job of keeping this under wraps (outside of the domains), the station will not flip before her shift is done (or the tickets are given away), or the airstaff was not informed about the future changes.

BLAH! BLAH BLAH!!! Who cares what they do. It just amazes me that no other station goes after The River which is doing pretty good but got their listeners by default when 106.7 went from True Oldies/AGH to news. 106.7 did much better as a music station. So WILD can do whatever they want, I won't be listening! :mad:

I'm upset that there is no classic hits station in ATL, also. Who knows, CC could be pulling our legs and launching "Peach", but chances of that are pretty low.

I hope this doesn't happen. All my favorite stations in Atlanta always go away. :( I really wish Wild would have went to 96.1 oh well thank God for internet streams and Pandora :)

Isn't that pretty much what happened? WILD was moved, in terms of playlist (except with a less rhythmic lean), to 96.1, as Power. WILD was probably kept around to see if Atlanta can have a more rhythmic CHR flank another, more popish CHR. It did not work at all.

That was the most unceremonious flip I've ever experienced. Hearing about it a few hours ago and then *BAM!* here's the flip. I guess they thought no one was listening so they decided to do it, and I bet no one recorded the flip either since no one was prepared. :)

They accelerated the flip process because of my post on Wilds Facebook page

Well, they could have seen the fact that the cat was let out of the bag, and pulled a haphazard launch into stunting.

And, WILD's website is still up. No goodbye message, no new webpage, zip!

Oh, for the record, the last song on WILD 105.7 was "Rosa Parks" by Outkast.

And my theory was right: they went back into "What's the Frequency Kenneth" by REM.

To an extent yes....but now there is a void for certain songs too pop for Hot but too urban for Power. Power is very cookie cutter. Wild was a bit more tolerable

Oh, take a look at this prophetic tweet from the WILD twitter page.

@WildAtlanta 1h Oh...my dear sweet #TEAMWILD .....this is your homie Web Ninja...my personal twitter @iamnovatribe .....I LOVE YOU GUYS! Follow me there! :)

And, for posterity, the last tweet (as of 11:13) is:

@WildAtlanta 1h (READ) The 411 on Justin Bieber's alleged assault charge ~ http://www.wildatlanta.com/cc-common/news/sections/newsarticle.html?feed=104650&article=11115869

And the last facebook post:
Um...really? A store is charging people $5 for "just looking"...click the link below and peep the vid. - Prolifik

I don't even know why I'm posting about this, except for posterity. And both the Facebook and Twitter pages are still up.

This was the total opposite of the Project flip. Project may have gone off suddenly, but there was more acute warnings and there was actually a goodbye message on the Facebook page and on the air. This just seems like they suddenly decided on impulse to kick everybody out and loop some REM for an hour.

And according to ATLRadioInsider: the flip will occur at high noon.
