WILK and CORBETT

You missed my point, Bender makes me laugh...oh wait so does Corbett!! Extreme liberal that he is. Oh, just let him dance to his own beat. I need a laugh!

A positive comment on Corbett, he demonstrates a focused tenacity in his drive to get politicians, elected officials and others on the air. I respect his work ethic in this regard. Though he tends to softball them once they call in he makes the genuine and sincere effort to get folks on the air to explain their actions. He also seems to spend a lot of time either at the station or out doing leg work instead of just working during his air shift.

This tenacity and hard nose work ethic also seems to be causing a brewing jealousy from his morning cohort Kevin Lynn. The other day Kevin was going on and on about certain officials calling into other WILK shows but not his. And this morning Kev made the comment that he was NOT going to chase a certain official all over town to get him on his show. Of course Nancy pointed out that he didn't have to "chase" all he had to do was make a phone call. Perhaps if he didn't apper to be running out the door at 9:01am and worked the phones a little he may get those he questions on air. Then again if they came on the show, Lynn's unchallenged criticism would no longer be, well, unchallenged.

It seems Corbett's presence may not only be exposing flaws in gov't, but flaws in his co-worker. ???

Flaws in Kevin Lynn are very easy to find. Elected types want nothing to do with him because they believe they're not going to get a fair shake. Corbett can be persistent with his point of view, and he appears to be a lot more "fair" than Kevin, who's been mailing it in for a long time.

I have a hard time listening to Kevin. I try to give him a fair shake but more often than not it's like listening to a grumpy, menstrating karaoke singer. Corbett is authentic - not always my taste, but authentic.

Kevin is full of passion, and he gets listeners riled up. In talk radio, that's a good thing. On the other hand, Kevin's act gets old fast because he's so irritating. Corbett is a little easier to take because he's less condescending.

Kevin is full of something, but passion I don't think so. He has gone down hill since his days at WARM.

On Friday he used an ethnic slur when talking about the Latino population in Hazleton. The context was his inference of how some people in Hazleton view the Latino population, it was not as direct as Imus's but it was pretty bad and completely unnecessary. It is a term I wouldn't let anyone around me use unchallenged, but since he is defending the minority I guess it is okay to use the degrading term. ???

The term has to do with simians on an open extension of a house. The initials are "P.M." I have such a distaste for the term I can't even type it or the words in the same sentence.

Perhaps, many will disagree with me and not find this terminology distasteful, however I am baffled by the fact that someone who claims to be so enlightened can use this type of term with such ease. It is such a derogatory term that in all my years I have only heard it used on a few occasions and then it was used by only the most hateful folks.

I wonder if Corbett will attack him as much as Corbett attacks others?

I just want to be clear the context was his inference of how some people in Hazleton view the Latino population, not a comment personally directed,by Kevin Lynn, at the Latino population.

I won't pass judgement because I didn't hear Kevin's comments in context. It's easy for him to slam the pro-iirc people from his big house at Harveys Lake. I'd like to see him grown a pair of onions and do his show from Hazleton some morning.
