Actually, he speaks the truth...... have you listened to the Bear lately? They are filled with spots.

I must agree that a shift of advertising from KLLL to The Bear is not really that big of a deal. I heard the same old line eleven years ago at KRLB Lubbock's Best Music Mix...

It's been a while since I have been to the Hub City. I'd actually like to hear The Bear.

The responses, especially from Garrett, prove the lack of knowledge of radio all around. Who are listeners? To a large degree they are clients and bred from clients. There are many ways to create ratings. They can and will be created by creating a belief in the advertising community that a major shift has taken place, even before you have proof of that shift. These clients didn't just take their ad dollars (in Lubbock almost all of which are local) to the Bear, they took their personal listening and with them their friends and families. They switched their radios in their stores and switched thier bumper stickers on thier cars.

The Reaper knows wannabees when he sees them.

You would be well advised not to make personal comments about people you don't know or have never met...

I've met everyone who matters and has mattered in Lubbock radio. Sorry to have called you on your bias, lack of knowledge and insight. If you want to slam Lubbock radio to take out your frustrations thats fine, just keep it fair. If you want to slam CC because you can't get a job there you are just showing everyone you have a personal vendetta and not genuine, articulate and knowledgeable opinions.

Please stop flaming me.
Really, just stop.

I can get a job at CC any time I want.

Being an arrogant name dropper will not get you a job at Clear Channel or anywhere else for that matter. Would appear that if you truly knew every person
in Lubbock radio that mattered, you would be continually hooked up with great jobs, unless of course, you just aren't qualified to fill the bill. Tell me,
which manager at CC would hire you "if you wanted to." Piece of advise my friend, start making real contacts instead of posting on a board full of name droppers, amateurs, and wanna-be's

Ok ok ok.... Here's the deal... Here's the truth!

Uh... I think you're a bit confused....

First, let me set the record straight, I never "slammed" CC, nor did I intend to.
In fact I really don't what all this talk about a "Vendetta" is. All I said was that I didn't think there were significant changes in Lubbock. That was really it. Maybe it was something I said about The Bear, but I confess, I don't get or understand the country format anyway. Somehow got blown out of proportion.

Second, uh... Name dropping? What names have I dropped? I think you are referring to the previous poster? I haven't dropped any names, in fact, I work hard not to talk about other people publicly (I've made that mistake before, it's not good and not nice).

And finally, I really would like it if we could move on from this now.
It is not true that I do not know about Lubbock radio, I know a lot of things that are happening that I really can not discuss. Yeah, I get that it's about selling ad time, but I know of more things going on righ now than that.

I'm sorry but that's really all I can say at this point.
