Will CBS Sell Vegas stations?

If a company plans to spin stations, wouldn't they curtail planned marketing and keep the cash at closing? Both MIX and JACK have TV campaigns on the air now. Hmmmmmm?

The NBC affiliate runs the same spot for the same station twice in the same commericial break often. If I were at CBS - Vegas, I would be on the phone asking them for separation and makegoods.

Some advertisers want their spots to run at the beginning and end of the same break; Arbys did that recently on some stations around here. They like the reenforcement of the message through repetition.

Is there such a thing as "separation" any more? I don't know how many times I've seen car spots back-to-back, even three in a row. And on one of those breaks with Arby's at the beginning and end, there were three other fast food spots within the break.

I think the industry refers to first and last in set as "bookends." If a station ran a :30 positioning their music/format at the front of the set and a :15 promoting their morning show at the end, I think that would be smart and attention getting.

In my opinion, running the same creative front and back is annoying and, YES, "repetitive." Music radio needs to steer clear of the same, even in TV advertising.
