Will Finneran really bring in ratings?

Do you kick puppies and kittens for fun too?

Excuse me Dumber, you're the nastiest person on here. You kicked the newsroom employees when they were down. Now you defend Finneran. What gives dude?

Excuse me Street Name, you have no idea what you're talking about. I kicked no one but WRKO when the newsroom employees were let go. I stated at the time that I believed they will come to regret their decision, and I stand by that. I have not defended Finneran, except to say that he should be given a fair shot before everyone piles on, and that goes for me too. I refuse to pre-judge or ASS-U-me that he won't work on radio until he's been on for a while. Ever hear of fairness? Charity? Giving a neophyte a fair shot?

Nasty? Yep, I'm nasty all right...when radio stations and their personnel are being unfairly attacked by those who think they know it all. I don't pretend to know even half of it, but too many people with no lives except posting here think they're experts. WRKO has enough to answer for, and you won't find me defending them, until and unless the know-it-alls start taking their usual pot-shots based on approximately nothing but old grudges and memories of what the station once was.

Not in the entertainment biz, no. This is big league ball. Finneran should take his act to Pittsfield or someplace like that.

No.

It doesn't matter how many guests or guest hosts or other crutches they put under Tom Finneran, this show will fail because he doesn't really want to be a talk show host. Finneran wants to increase his name recognition value and rehabilitate his reputation so he can run for office again. Peter Blute tried to do the exact same thing on WRKO and failed as well. The insincerity and ambiguity of the soundbite-driven language of a politician will doom him as a talk show host. It probably doesn't help that many if not most of WRKO's P1s hate him, and its P1s who deliver most of any station's TSL. Entercom must be praying for a lot of diary returns from Mattapan.

How much revenue will this much-hyped new show lose before the first ratings book even comes out? I'm hearing from agency reps who have clients with buys on WRKO that are looking to bail out.
