The only clubs where some people might have sex several times a night (reallly???? SEVERAL times?) are some of the underground gay clubs. The whole hedonistic aspect of mainstream New York clubbing died for the most part with Disco music in the late 70s, when Aids entered the picture, though there were a few well known big clubs in the 80s and early 90s where that was going on.
As for the whole drug culture in New York, probably reached new heights at some of the original House clubs of the mid 80s, a couple of the early 90s Rave hangouts (like Limelight, Keoki's Disco 2000 night, and all the warehouse parties), and in the late 90s at places like Exit.
Trance is no more the perfect soundtrack to getting high on then tech or tribal house, or Hip Hop for that matter. Now if you're talking about Psychedelic Trance parties out in the woods, then yeah there's probably going to be a lot of drug partaking.
Me personally, I think Trance by the likes of Ferry Corsten and Paul Van Dyk is perfect for Rush Hour traffic ;D

Oh really? Funny, I seem to recall 95.3 Party playing "Out of the Blue" by System F (aka Ferry Corsten) in regular rotation. They also played Paul Van Dyk's "We're Alive". Party 93.1 Miami was all over Tiesto's "Traffic" (especially in rush hour traffic) as well as "Nothing But You" by Paul Can Dyk.
XM's BPM already has Ferry Corsten's new song with Howard Jones in rotation, and Sirus 36 The Beat is all over Paul Van Dyk's "Let Go" (and they also still have Ferry Corsten's "Fire" in their Top 30). C-89.5 Seattle currently has in rotation the Thrillseekers "Waiting Here For You", and what do you know Filo & Peri's "Anthem" is the most played song there. In fact, it's in rotation on 87.7 Pulse as well.
 
that's niche programming/stations at best, n'est pas? I'm talking about full power stations with advertisers and arbitron numbers
 
Wow Lalumia is so angry! What is your beef, did Pulse 87 turn down playing your track? Damn, let it go, move on..
