IIRC, the current "The Coast" WMJK/100.9- Clyde signed on as a Hispanic station...

Preferrably, I'd like Elyria-Lorain to take WKFM/96.1 and flip it from country to CHR/rock. Then, move the country to WLKR/95.3 (as "95-3 The Lake"), and flip daytimer WLKR/1510 to ESPN Radio.

I have no idea however long the standards/beautiful music at WLEC/1450 will last. Their saving grace is this being the "Vacationland" area, so WLEC could buck the national trend of the standards format. Yet, if 1450 went to either N/T or all-FSR, it wouldn't suprize me...

And lastly, it would be nice to see WCPZ/102.7 seque out of the "Mix" handle and be imaged once again as "102.7 WCPZ."

--Here's the only thing about a daytimer and ESPN...When are most of the games (baseball, basketball, football, hockey, etc.) played? At night. When, if you're a sportsfan, do you want updates and scores? Late at night. I understand some of ESPN's daytime programming is considered to be pretty solid...but...I personally would think the big draw would be the scores and updates...Imagine you're an overnight worker or you're on the road...this is when ESPN is truely a great service to the sportsfans that can't be at home to watch the highlights on tv...by the time morning/afternoon rolls around you've already figured out who won. With all due respect, I just can't see ESPN radio being the best use of a daytimer...just my opinion.

By the way, the spanish population in Huron and surrounding counties is growing big-time. Not sure the area's quite ready for a spanish station but, it might not be too long...

Incidentally, WLKR/95.3 already has ESPN in the late evenings/overnights in between sports PBP. Kinda odd, considering that WLKR-FM is pretty much SAC during the day, but it's worked for a long, long time.

If only there were a logistical way that WLKR-AM could have night service. It will never happen, since WLAC-Nashville booms in at night with their directional 50KW signal. But if Elyria-Lorain ever had a full-time AMer in Norwalk, that would be perfect for all of the sports coverage.

There is one AM daytimer I've heard with ESPN out in Lancaster, Ohio. Don't know how they're doing.

Neighboring Lorain had WDLW/1380 as a Hispanic outlet for several years before they flipped to oldies. Their main problem was selling advertising outside of Lorain; but there also was an ownership change at this time, too.

Oh, and there's non-comm WNZN/89.1 - licensed to Lorain, but with it's transmitter in Huron. Operates on a part-time basis...
