Will there be Christmas this year on the radio.

leave it to this message board to suck the joy and fun out of Christmas
Hey, I love Christmas a lot! And I love Christmas music on the radio, but the present climate has radio stations thumbing their noses at new stuff and playing the old "tried and true" stuff every year. If I want fresh Christmas music, I'll click onto the Christmas Radio Network or the Sounds of Christmas.

I scrolled through yesterday's playlist from WWLI/Providence and it seems that hey are playing a better variety/less repetitive mix than WODS or WROR used to. Last year, it seemed that 'ODS and 'ROR were playing some of their top tracks ("Sleigh Ride," "Happy XMas," "Holly Jolly Christmas," etc.) once every four hours.

I'd imagine one of the Boston FMs will flip by Thanksgiving.

I'm surprised it's taking this long. I thought someone would have gone all-Christmas on or shortly after November 1st.

Or have they decided to adopt my blueprint for Christmas music as posted elsewhere on these boards (no Xmas songs at all until December 1st; then one Christmas song every third hour from December 1st-10th; followed by one Christmas song every other hour from December 11th-17th; followed by one Christmas song an hour from December 18th until 12 Noon on Christmas Eve, and finally all-Christmas for 36 hours from 12 Noon December 24th through 12 Midnight December 25th)??

Just checked their online playlist——I guess they flipped at 9am.
Likewise, WWLI’s playlist indicates they made the move at 8:35am.

Both WWLI and WHOM are Cumulus AC stations. Perhaps other Cumulus ACs have flipped Friday morning as well.

Somebody in Boston, probably WROR, will flip by Wednesday afternoon...

Heck, I would happy if there was some Christmas on television this year, instead of the annual Texas Chainsaw Massacre, House on Haunted Hill, Halloween, and the usual blood, gore and horror fare. I would be even happier if we had some classics instead of the lonely teacher holiday movie that I flip right past. It doesn't even look entertaining or Christmasy.

I'll bet cha 'ROR will go Christmas first thing in the morning! ;D

Still thinking CBS is going to leave a big surprise in the stockings of Karson and everyone else at 'BMX tomorrow morning: a hard-drive full of Christmas music!

Thankfully we at WVCH will wait till mid-December to roll out Christmas music. All ho ho ho all the time=$ale$Whoring to the max, as is Black Friday.

Maybe later this week. There's been a little pushback from people along the lines of hey let us get to Thanksgiving before you shove Christmas at us...
