If you really listened to KLSX you would know it wasn't just all "signing racks!" FM hot talk will FOR SURE be back soon! He told listeners that he probably won't be on the air until that contract expires because he doesn't mind "not doing anything and getting paid for it", so there you go.
I can just picture Tom walking the streets of LA after hours bumping into former listeners who quip "Hey, you're Tom Leykis from (pausing to strain memory) " or worse yet "Hey, didn't you used to be Tom Leykis?" I'm sure only half a dozen such encounters will have Tom beating down the studio doors saying "Let me on-the-air!" Attention piggie needs to feed. ;-)
hahaha, just kidding, I was a huge Leykis fan from his KFI days and got quite sad when I heard the opening of Bruce Hornsby's "That's Just The Way It Is" because I knew the fun was done for the day. :'-(
Bring back Leykis, but make sure it's Tom "KFI" Leykis, please.
Oh, and bring back the emoticons too!![]()
"KLSX" Leykis is dead and will never comeback. On the AM dial "KFI" Leykis can make a comeback. Tom should have stuck with politics. That is why even though his paycheck is nice. It's peanuts compared to what others have made having a national audience like Rush & Hannity on the right & Ed Shultz & Maddow on the left.
because the FM Talk format will not comeback to L.A. ever again. At least not the KLSX hot talk let me sign your rack type of format. Those days are history! Tom will never do a show like that again! Mark my words!
Not a chance. KLSX only worked so many years because of Howard. When Stern bolted for Sirius and CBS tried to run a hot talk network it failed miserably! Leykis failed in New York City on WNEW the # 1 market. Hot talk won't work nationally in conservative markets in the south and midwest. Like I stated before it didn't even work in NYC. To run a live and local FM hot talk station is too expensive. Only a hand full of companies in town. Clear Channel, Citadel? Please! None of these companies will touch the format, but keep dreaming buddy.
