Will We See An Earlier Flip To Christmas Music This Year In The Boston Market?

That station (WMAS-FM) was on the list to be flipped acc. to radioinsight but indeed I just went on their site and Phil Collins You'll Be In My Heart is playing

No flip yet at 106.7, which often has a tendancy to flip around 5pm on Friday, usually 1 or 2 Fridays before Thanksgiving. Strongest AC station in the Boston area not yet playing Christmas music, however suburban areas right outside of the city and to the West/South can hear the Christmas music from Worcester/Providence AC stations, which overlap with 106.7 coverage area.

Not sure if 104.9 WBOQ is playing Christmas music yet/or 95.7 WZID.

WBOQ - Rimshot.
Not really. It is home to the market. A rimshot is usually considered to be a station on the periphery of a market that is "shooting" the signal in from outside.
K-Love, kind of niche type of programming.
Except for sports in Boston, every format is a niche format.

Only 1 station station gets over a 7 share in 12+, and only 5 more average over a 5 share.

95.7 WZID and 94.9 WHOM have not flipped yet when I checked reception tonight.

I'll take word above for 104.9, however station was completely unable to be received where I was.

I am not going to split hairs with you David. You know what I meant.

Especially since a Bostonian would know that WBOQ is a non-player in a chunk of Boston proper because of the presence of Class D WRBB on the same frequency.
It is funny on what you will pick up right in the middle of Downtown Boston, depending on even such things as being 20 floors above the street. WBOQ used to come in up there, as opposed to WRBB, go figure.

WMAS may flip today at around 5 PM. I'm recording an aircheck of them and sister station WRCH down in Hartford right now. I'll keep you updated.

Edit: WLCQ-LP could also make a flip soon.

None of the stations made a flip.

Looks like 5 PM tonight is when 106.7 will flip.

I wonder if 97.7 will play any Christmas tunes ?

La Mega had a couple in rotation last year.

As of last night, the only Christmas music I was hearing at my location was on WALK 97.5 from Patchogue, NY. I don't keep track of the flips the way some in this thread apparently do -- does it seem unusually late for WRCH and WMAS not to have gone ho-ho-ho yet?

Noncomm WJMJ Hartford is in the middle of its fall beg-athon right now, but no sign of holiday tunes in the occasional songs being played. I've never noted when they start creeping into the playlist, but once they begin to, they remain until the literal 12th day of Christmas, better known as Epiphany. And not just religious songs either, but "Frosty the Snowman," "White Christmas" and all the rest!

The only flips that I pay attention too are the ones right in the middle of the metro area, aka WMJX.

The only other ones that I take note on are the ones reported in my daily digests.
