I heard Fox news at 6pm and the traffic update at 6:04 then made a quick scan of the dial and came by WILM and there was no sound. I thought maybe they lost power, but 1290 WWTX was on the air just fine (they're right next to each other in the CC Delaware building). So maybe this was one of those computer gremlins. WILM was off, that I know of, for about 10 minutes. I then was at my destination and stopped scanning the dial. I don't know if WRTX-FM (TOM-FM) has someone on air (in that building) at that time of the day to notice a problem with either of the two AM stations or if TOM-FM is on the computer too then. I noticed that WILM was back on the air at 8pm when I got back into my car to go home.
So WDEL isn't the only station here to have this type of problem. As I said in a different post, WHYY-FM has had some computer issues during the day a couple of weeks ago ( I guess after Radio Times goes off at noon they're on the NPR bird and computer).
It makes me wonder after AM drive till PM drive, how many radio stations in the Wilmington/Philly area actually have anyone in them other the WDEL with live and local talk/news, WPHT with their live and local talk/news, KYW newsradio, WIP-AM/FM local sports talk, and WPEN AM/FM local sports talk. Do any music FM's have any live on air folks after AM drive?
