R.F. Burns said:Oh and Bob, my family is not Scottish. My daughter went to school in Scotland for her masters. She passed with "distinction" which very few in the program did. The graduation ceremony will be held in a few weeks and my wife and I are traveling there to share the experience with her. We are very proud parents.
Thank you RF for a very rational and calming overview of the situation. You summed things up very well.
More importantly, congratulations to your daughter! You should be "proud parents."
I haven't been to Scotland in about five years, but I think you will enjoy the trip. There are some spectacular places to visit, and the Scottish people are quite friendly. I was in Ireland about a month and a half ago, and if it is any indication, be sure to take a wi-fi card for your laptop. It was everywhere in the Emerald Isle. In fact, their Internet connectivity makes the US look like somewhat of a third world nation. It was not at all unusual to get connection speeds in excess of 2 mbs, and that was pinging a server in Dallas, Texas. It was quite impressive.
Please have a great trip to Scotland.
