This station has had a fitfull start with iboc but seems to have worked things out.

These bird-fed formats don't fare as well as local orgination due to cascading compression, still the signal is a full 5 "bars" and if HD gets into the sort of sets that people actually buy, it will give 1560 and Radio Disney a competitive outlet for it's target audience.

While getting reacquainted with New York radio I discovered that WINS is now iboc.

With this addition we now have 8 AM stations in HD.

I'am not going to pretend that I don't hear SBR on this signal, but its still decent.

Note: At the beginning I switched off carrier then back to show the buffer interval, also, WINS is only 4 of 5 bars on the signal/buffer indicator.

I posted these on the "HD" board but since they are New York stations, I figured they might be of interest here aswell.

I'm trying to figure out what irks me more. The fact that 1010 is now HD .... or that they haven't delayed their clocks to compensate for the diversity delay.

Great to see that New York's "talking clock" is pretty much useless until they re-adjust things. ;D Good thing I work in a facility that also has an exact time standard in the newsroom.

Gosh why the hostility towards WINS?
