WIP on FM

Seltzer said:
WEEI in Boston had the franchise in sports. But when CBS created the sports station that is WBZ-FM, Entercom didn't hesitate in getting their product on FM.

It should be noted, though, that WEEI has serious problems with its AM signal technically, not just with the demographic issues that it raises. While during the day the signal is acceptable throughout most of the market, at night the signal completely disappears in Boston's affluent western suburbs - a place that advertisers want to reach. WBZ-FM couldn't come in better in that area both day and night.

It makes sense to move a struggling, second-in sports station from AM to FM. It makes much less sense to move one that's doing fine where it is.

If anything, CBS should at least put WPHT-AM on WOGL-FM as an HD-3 channel...

WIP on WYSP-HD3 works. WPEN 950AM on WMGK HD-3 doesn't.
