Nice article in the Times Reporter today about the move; Here's a quote from By LEE MORRISON, T-R Business Editor:
"Clear Channel’s filing stated
the company intends to seek a construction permit for a facility at North Canton. However, the construction timetable is up to three years. The FCC ruling states that within 90 days of the effective date of the order, Clear Channel must submit the construction permit to the FCC. The action does not authorize a change in the station’s transmitter location.
The relocated station would cover 100 percent of the Canton urban area.
The only objection to the move filed with the FCC was a letter from area resident Edward J. Cox II. Because of procedural guidelines, the FCC did not include the letter in its decision making process. Nor did it consider a petition of opposition by 12 Dover residents, which was filed past the deadline for comments.
Based on paperwork filed supporting the move and criteria established in prior FCC cases, the agency stated, “We conclude that the public interest would be served” by the change."
