WJES, WCRS and WYOR Roper's stations off

???

All appeared to be either off or just dead air. This evening I had no signal on 1200 or 1450 and dead air on 94.1. This has been going on for some days now...

I have noticed the same thing in the last few days. I listen to AM. I listen to Rush Limbaugh on WCRS, but he's not there anymore! What happened???????????

94.1 has been off and on for the past few months ... now it's been off for a good while. Nothing.
I would think Mr. Roper would have sense enough to file an STA before his wrist gets slapped, but then again....

Or maybe my friendly little note to the FCC .... :p

Mark it down, they'll be back off in a few days. They can not stay on consistently, at least 94.1.

94.1 has been off again at least since this afternoon. As Powell said, complete dead air....can't tell if there is a carrier or not. Just a dead spot at 94.1 with some background noise, no stereo pilot.

Reminds me of when Bishop Willis owned WKWQ. The carrier would be on, but no programming because he either did not pay the power bill or the rent at the studio.

Yesterday WJES 1200 had music, and dead carrier 94.1 and I think WCRS is just off totally.
WJES has an Enco automation system (or did) with MOHD. I could do playlists and stuff there pretty quick, but I won't do it free of charge..... I work with an Enco automation system daily. I make my playlists for the day without the aid of music scheduling software or traffic software....all done by hand.

WJES may not be operating in Greenwood....do you know? I believe they are licensed to Saluda.

So I'm taking it nobody is even monitoring these stations...that is against the law right there. If I were whoever is in control of these stations, I would file an STA or turn my license in, it's way better than just not broadcasting anything without FCC notification. Is 1390 (WROP) in Belton/Anderson off as well? Anyone know? They were simulcasting 94.1 last I heard after Roper bought it.

If I knew how to get ahold of Roper, I'd offer to let him simulcast us for however long he needs to keep something on the air.

He was still at WTQR and I am sure that going to their web page would give you an idea how to get in touch with him.

Yes.

Is nobody watching the stations? Against the laws. They are still off, at least this afternoon. I hope Roper gets his wrist slapped at the least for this. These 3 need to go silent since they apparently cannot be sold or operated properly. 94.1 has been a disaster for years.

Isn't he still at WTQR in Winston-Salem?
This brings up another category of topics but Winston-Salem has no commercial FM stations, although three Greensboro stations are licensed to Winston-Salem.

We seem to have a problem of semantics. If they are licensed to Winston-Salem, what makes them Greensboro stations?

I guess it's kinda like WORG 100.3 in Orangeburg, they are licensed to Elloree but they are an Orangeburg station W ORG for Orangeburg. We are WLRE and are licensed to Elloree, WTCB 106.7 is Licensed for Orangeburg but is a Columbia station and would get mad if you told them they weren't a Columbia station. Guess we need a score card.
