Like you say, they'll upgrade that fast after they take over. I bet Merlin will NEVER
transmit from Camden, except maybe 1 minute a week, to keep it "Legal"
It's all about building penetration.
Yes, even though it is across the river in Camden, that antenna is defininately closer to the tall bldgs in Center City than the ones in the antenna farm. So their aux antenna will be with WMMR? And WMMR's aux antenna is the old one high atop the PSFS bldg. Is it still a 29 thousand watt flamethrower?KyleAndMelissa22 said:Zackster said:An AUX transmitter is a fast way to get what you want, the FCC grants them quickly.

The current WKDN Camden site is only 4 miles SE from Center City Philly,
that's twice as close as the Roxboro antenna farm for most Philly stations (8 miles NW),
so the Camden site already has great building penetration, likely better than most others.
Also an auxilary transmitter is just that, not supposed to be used in place of a main transmitter for an extended time,
and it's much lower in power and this'll affect the coverage for (millions) in the market.
It's a much better idea to stay where they are for now.

I know that WMMR moved their main transmitter to One Libery Place. 103.9 is up there too. Question is when 'MMR is using the aux, formerly their main, is it still 29Kw? like the promo used to say?emeraldsounddjs said:Bill_W said:Yes, even though it is across the river in Camden, that antenna is defininately closer to the tall bldgs in Center City than the ones in the antenna farm. Yes and no. KDN's aux antenna will be with WMMR, but it will be with MMR's main antenna not their aux. MMR's main antenna is located atop One Liberty Place.

103.9 (WPPZ) is in Jenkinsville, amazing how far PPZ reaches however.
Also, is 106.9 going to be listenable in Montgomery, Gloucester and Chester Counties still? They're not gonna lose audience, right?
Sorry, meant 107.9, licenced to Pennsauken. 107.9 used to be WPPZ. It seems like R1 has played musical chairs on all 3 frequencies since they took Y-100 away.RadioPhillyFan said:103.9 (WPPZ) is not on One Liberty Place, 107.9 (WPHI) is.

I still don't get why they flipped Y100 when it was billing more than what the other 2 Radio One stations billed combined. If it ain't broke don't fix it.RadioPhillyFan said:RadioPhillyFan said:Bill_W said:Sorry, meant 107.9, licenced to Pennsauken. 107.9 used to be WPPZ. Y-100... Aka my favorite radio station of all time.
Sorry for blank quote, my browser messed up and I never caught it.
