The only one they have is The Baka Boyz Hip Hop Master Mix (nationally syndicated), which airs Friday nights from 10PM to 1AM.
I think they REALLY need a local mixshow on Saturday nights....something similar to what they had in the late 90s The Basement Brothers.
The main problem is this.....V100 is more R&B than hip hop. And over the last year, R&B has been dominated by Urban AC type of artists (Monica, Jazmine Sullivan, Fantasia, Alicia Keys, Maxwell, etc). That doesn't appeal to the demographic they should be going after to compete with KISS
I don't see anything wrong with R&B being dominated by such artists because that's what made contemporary R&B still a viable genre compared to the pop/R&B artists like Rihanna, Beyonce, etc. However, in the case of WKKV they need to their spins of contemporary R&B songs to middays and late nights where the audience is there to listen to those songs and spin the pop/R&B and hip-hop songs during the mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends. They could get it right if they balanced themselves against their top-40 competition.
