WKRC transmitter trouble?

it would've never happened when Jacor and Randy Michaels were in charge.
I've read a lot of true statements, but few are any truer than this one.

While I wasn't there when this happened, Randy reportedly took one of WKRC's two new MW5 transmitters (new in summer 1975) and put it into the dummy antenna at every watt it could muster and turned the processor output up as far as it would go and let it run until something blew. When a part failed, he replaced it with the next bigger rated part and started again. After several months of this, he duplicated all the 'upgrades' into the other MW5. Can you imagine what the bean counters would say if someone attempted that stunt today? They'd have a heart attack just on the electric bill. If this radio thing doesn't work out, maybe Randy could go to work for Harris in the AM transmitter R&D department.

Thats how Bob Jones set up his Phasors. We went through thousands of dollars worth of glass caps before i cut him loose and hired someone who was much better.
Boy, i had an MW5. They were known for some erratic voltages. The MW50 was way worse. Bandwidth was pretty narrow as well.
What is it with Cincinnati radio operators and their total disregard for FCC rules?

I have noticed the improvement in the daytime signal which will help you in the summer months. I also like the reverb on the station's processing.

In the meantime,WKRC is still running with daytime power after sunset.
I wonder if KTRS in St. Louis is being affected?
