WKRD

I'm beginning to think there won't be any change at 790 except dropping the "Cards Radio" name, Top of hour ID is now"790 WKRD" only.
Another thing is that Nick Coffey is doing a post game call in show tonight around 10 PM after the U of L football game.

smart move having the call in post-game show. Just like 939 the ville did before getting the coverage rights.

I think they've dropped that name for a while, or at least since the Cardinals decided to move over to 93.9.

Nope. Nothing. Again with football season starting would seem to be the best time to change things up. But this is iHeartRadio. Who know when and what they will do.

Was anyone able to read the article mentioned in the first post? I would like to know what it said but I don't want to have to pay to read it!

I didn’t pay to read it either, I know I’m cheap lol, but it hinted that IHeart would be making changes at multiple stations in Louisville.

Yep and my guess is it would be the two AM stations in Louisville. Matt Jones hinted at it too saying that 1080 is mainly a news talk station.

On one of the Louisville shows they said that they heard that rumor as well but it was going to happen on 9/1.

WLAP is newstalk/sports. It seems to work for them.

I just think they are missing an opportunity for an all UK sports station in Louisville. Look at the ratings KSR does.

It's fun watching people trying to deduct a column without actually reading it.

I will say two things, in the time between my original report being published and the most likely time the change would've taken place, iHeart fired their Louisville Market Manager. I have been unable to confirm, but logic would stand to state that either put the planned changes on hold or cancelled them outright. Also Alpha's flip of 102.3 since then, may have taken one of the FM signals out of play as it left 100.5 as the only Variety Hits station in the market. But at the time there were plans for changes at multiple signals in the iHeartMedia Louisville cluster.
