Finally, WKRP In Cincinnati is rescued from VHS purgatory and will be released on DVD on April 24th by 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment. Not sure if the episodes will contain the original copyrighted music as played by Dr. Johnny Fever("Old Time Rock N Roll" by Bob Seger on the Episode "Pilot Part 2" is one example)or the awful over-dubs as found in some of the syndicated cuts. BTW, 20th Century Fox owns the rights to all of MTM's old TV shows, so most of the MTM shows like "The Bob Newhart Show" and "The White Shadow" have recently dropped on DVD as well. I remember reading once that 'KRP wasn't filmed but instead taped due to an old rule that stated that if you taped you didn't have to pay royalties to use copyrighted music, but if your show was filmed you did. So, Cincinnati can finally rejoice! A piece of broadcast history will hit DVD, as it should have years ago.
