WKSW Enon Ohio

The FCC issued a License for WKSW at the new 101.5 frequency yesterday 3/1/11. have they changed format ? The Kisscountry web site still says 101.7.

How is the coverage in the Dayton area

How can one file a 'license to cover' if their not on the new transmitter site yet... odd
Never seen this happen before.

The new WKSW facility is built and ready to go... Maybe this "license to cover" is a FCC error if they are still on 101.7?

The Columbus move in on 101.7 is not even aware of this. They, WKNO-FM at 101.7 is checking into it. They have permission to fire up their new
tower site just East of Columbus as soon as WKSW has it's "License to Cover". That facility is also built and ready to go.

It's a directional facility, which means there is no automatic program test authority. The license to cover has to be filed prior to any program tests with the proper engineering documentation to certify that the directional antenna meets pattern and was installed properly.

WKSW was granted PROGRAM TEST AUTHORITY yesterday. Look for them to be on 101.5 FM any day now(If not already).

Ok that makes more sense now.

I'm starting to wonder if they're EVER going to move to the Enon signal. If/when they do, I just don't see the Country format sticking. If they really want to stick it to WONE and Clear Channel they could just slap WING-AM on the FM, like WBNS/Columbus. I just don't see Kiss Country competing head-to-head with K-99.1. It's always been marketed as a Clark and Champaign County-only station.

The air staff of Lee Riley and Andy Lawrence are still very music on the air.
Andy does a great job in his new role of the doing the morning show. Lee, total pro, continues to pull the air shift and does an excellent job in doing play by play. Main Line is very fortunate to have them at Kiss Country.

Well the FCC has them licensed at 101.5 now, so i would assume that they have to get this done soon. All references to the old 101.7 license are gone.

The move probably has to wait until high school basketball is over unless they want to refund sponsor money.
Why? The only way they would have to refund $$$ is if they flipped, or so I would think. The Enon signal should be much stronger than that 3,000 watt pea shooter they're on now. I look for KC to be blown up. The hillbilly brigade better fire up their Ford F-150s and head towards 717 East David Road now. ;D

The red circle is approximately the 60 dbu, which will provide reasonable coverage in autos, and radios in homes.

70 dbu or better is needed inside commercial buildings (with a lot of steel); generally around 10 miles out from the transmitter.
