You 102 as in all of those You-niversities that the signal is gonna cover? College sports, mayhaps?

Pulse 102 as in dance music to get your heart racing?

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm... ???

Pulse is the name of the Sirius/XM Hot AC station. I guess in a PPM world that works, but with diaries I'd never want to be competing with that. I'm guessing if someone wrote down "The Pulse" it would go to XM.

If you go to this link.........

http://radioinsight.com/2010/curtis-media-teases-future-of-raleigh-durham-move-in/

and click on Pulse 102 or You 102 there are short teaser airchecks. When you click on link 'The Radio Insight Page" will appear, than in a few seconds the above link will appear. (or sometimes it takes you direct to the link) ???

You102 [it'll be change to U-102] is for the educationals here, hyper-serving UNC, NCSU, Duke, Meredith, Peace, NC Central, Mount Olive College night classes, Shaw, St. Augustines, Strayer, U of Phoenix, Miller-Motte, ECPI, the School of Communication Arts, Wake Tech, Durham Tech, and Johnston and Vance-Granville, if the signal reaches there. Straight 24/7 colleges, local bands in the overnights, PSAs read by college students for class credits, information selling the departments, college admissions info, athletics info, sold a year in advance at a time. Just a big ol' WXDU/WXYC/WDBS/WSHA mashup.

Pulse102 is for the medical industry in the Triangle. They'll cover research, development, maybe some medical schools. Mostly information and like the medical TV at the hospital, with commercials for uniform companies, Big Pharma, and related industries. That's where a lot of grant money is going to get spent.

^ Law school is in downtown Raleigh now ;D

I was going to say Barton, but... signal won't go that far.

As goofy as this sounds at first...you may be on to something. Curtis already has a state business operation of some kind and maybe he's trying to got non traditional ad dollars with this. It sure wont' get ratings.

Doubt it, but don't scoff. Then we'll have to single you out for an "I tolja so." :)

Hand over fist, man.
Hand over fist with low expenses and no royalties.
Hyper-community involvement up the yingyang.
Block programming for the 21st century: by campus [educational or medical].

Curtis may be able to improve the numbers over at WKIX (AM) if he connects a police scanner. He'd have to find someone with a key to the building, though.

As far as WPTF is concerned, Dave Ramsey must not be doing very well in the market. He has a live event at the RBC Center this month. The $39 tickets have been reduced to $9 for people who have already bought at least one ticket.

As usual I am confused...
Does this mean there will be no longer a 102.9 which plays "Oldies"?

A shout out to "w00t" for Barton College! Go Bulldogs! Tony Tilley is the man! Dick's Hot Dogs rule!!

I don't know how WPTF is doing but I paid $39 per ticket this morning and was happy to get them. The ticket guy at RBC Center said they sold close to 10,000 seats as of last Saturday. Ramsey is a rock star.

Has anyone noticed that WKXU and WWMY have been stunting today? All I heard all day is Love Story and an old disco tune from the Bee Gees with the ID played between the two and constant repetition of it all.
