WKXU, WWMY - Domains Registered

Halloweeny music until the 31st, then get the jump on Christmas music!
Mix in some tv audio from Thanksgiving episodes over the years through November.
Genius!

There's new music and new call letters for the 102.3/102.5 simulcast. A loop of Halloween music
Michael Jackson's Thriller, Ray Parker's Ghostbusters, and the Monster Mash (can't remember the artist's name), I believe just these three, and new calls WWPL on the Smithfield signal (102.3) and WPLW on the Hillsborough (102.5) one.

Yeh probably 102 The Pulse.. I just heard it. I was shocked when I didn't hear Taylor no more. (Thank god I was getting sick of that song)

Now that I think about it it could be one of those Bob, Jack, Simon's too.. WPLW aka "We PLay Whatever (you/we) want". They'll probably name it Curtis instead of Bob since it is CMG. lol Just an idea!

Ah, new calls WWPL/WPLW - maybe they'll call themselves "Play 102"? Just a guess... CBS launched a new station in Tampa called "Play 98.7" which is a female-gearing AC...

@RadioDaze - The "Monster Mash" artist would be Bobby "Boris" Pickett - who also had the little-known Christmas-themed follow-up titled "Monster's Holiday" - which, if segueing from an all-Halloween to an all-Christmas playlist would be the perfect bridge, IMHO...

Screw that, how about just playing a loop of audio of the famous "WKRP In Cincinnati" Thanksgiving episode? ::)

"As God as my witness, I thought turkeys could fly!"

You called it--- the 102.5/102.3 simulcast is now stunting a Halloween-themed loop featuring "Ghostbusters," Stevie Wonder's "Superstition," Michael Jackson's "Thriller," and the Monster Mash, with the new station ID (WWPL instead of WWMY and WPLW instead of WKXU) in between the Monster Mash and Ghostbusters...

Female-gearing AC... sounds like 93.9 Kiss-FM. Another showdown between CC and CMG, perhaps? I know CMG struck back at WRDU's last two format changes by having proposed new IRLs directing to QDR (country) and PTF (current talk format). This should be interesting...

Nobody ever mentioned http://www.thewind102.com/ registered on Oct 1, did they? ???

Doubtful; the new WWPL and WPLW calls fit "The Pulse" better...

PLAY seems to be a better fit for those calls, and there's no registered domain out there. That should tell you something. My guess is this will break wind and have no pulse in 18 months. ;D

So whats the format going to be? My bet is some type of CHR or Rythmic station. We need a station to compete with K97.5 but knowing CMG they are going after CC with this but what station, G or Kiss. I would say G because they have higher ratings

I just saw Santa Claus and his sleigh fly over. Looked like they were headed for Highwoods. ;)

This is going to fail because G105 already sounds like they're winning.

Should have taken G on indirectly and filled a gap in the process, like with a 90s alternative poprock format.

Nobody ever learns in radio.
