And guess what... YOU CAN LINK TO IT HERE.... We don't censor links from other platforms. There's a non-paywalled story with details, but unfortunately it's on a rival website to Radio Insight, so you'll have to find it for yourself. Hint: Google News.
I tried that one before the site I referred to above, but I only got a brief glimpse of the story before the paywall came crashing down. Were you able to read the whole story?Or we could link to the OG reporting on this, from the local newspaper:
WKZE is being sold to Andy Gladding and Katie Berghorn, by current owner Barb Stanley Three and a half years after the death of her husband, Will Stanley. She is selling it to protect the stations independence, and the staff from large conglomerates, that have expressed interest in the station. No significant changes are expected . Although there was solicitations to subscribe I was able to read this Albany Times Union article without doing so. How did WKZE FM end up with 97.7 WHVW FM now WCZX transmitter that was manufactured in 1970. I thought WHVW FM started around 1968 with the transmitter located in Hyde Park somewhere. The location didn't work and they had terrible coverage to the south. In the 1990s I tjink they moved to Illinois Mt to fix that when the then owner of WPDH bought 97.7
WHVW likely bought a different transmitter when they moved tower sites. WKZE probably bought it when they upgraded power in the early 90s.How did WKZE FM end up with 97.7 WHVW FM now WCZX transmitter that was manufactured in 1970.
