WLAN now calls itself "Central PA's Hit Music Station"

I think you make some valid points mcradiofree.
I in no way meant to infer anything negative about the
CHR format. I really was only trying to convey what I've experienced
selling in the Central PA markets over the years. And you are exactly
right there is a huge difference selling from market to market. I know
the CMA has tried for years to get a station to program country in New York
in fact so far as holding the awards show there back a few years ago and
even that didn't encourage anyone to program a country station in New York.
I think I am also in agreement with you that if any of the larger groups needed
cash to continue a reach into a larger market that there would be no sacred cow.
I knew that from my time spent at Citadel that The X & WIOV were the two top
billers in the Cluster but you are right that does not necessarily mean now that
Cumulus owns those stations that any station in that group
couldn't be sold. I appreciate you checking back in , I think you've made some
very valid points and it seems as though we do have some similar thoughts.

I'll really miss WLAN 1390 on my visits to Lanc. County. They had a very unique playlist compared the crap Iam used to in the Wilmington/Philly area.

WLAN is not a Harrisburg station. It gets into Harrisburg, but not strong enough to penetrate office buildings. I serious doubt that Clear Channel would try to use the 96.9 signal to be Harrisburg's CHR. As far as putting WHP on an FM is concerned, I don't think it is a priority at this point. They will find a way to do it when they absolutely have to. Cumulus will NOT get the rights to Limbaugh and Hannity on an FM in Harrisburg.
How funny how this changed now 99.3 is Alt 99.3 and FM 97 is Harrisburg's other CHR.
