Just heard WLEY is picking up the Chulo show from a station in Austin. What type of show is it? More or less like Piolin show? Will it work in Chicago?

At that time, when WLEY debuted, WOJO was horribly programmed, with little attention to the fact that the market had become overwhelmingly Mexican in origin and taste; the turn-around came when the new GM, Jerry Ryan and OM César Canales brought in Rafael Pulico, "El Pistolero," and PD "El Primo Rafa" and went fully regional Mexican.

Not to mention they went almost to a pop format, abandoning the "regional Mexican" that they had been known for previously. I remember going into shops on West 26th street hearing WLEY everywhere. I only remember one place playing WOJO, a Bakery outside of "La Villita" It seems that they have found their focus again.
