Well, let's take this one at a time, shall we?
"(Is) TMO...going to bring back the staff they laid off before the flip?"
I would hope that the former air staff of WLIR would have found some employment in those three months. I realize that many people posting on message boards think that air talent and PDs are chess pieces to be moved at a whim, but in fact they are real people with families in need of making the rent, car payments and maybe even purchasing food. If they didn't find employment in the broadcasting field, they are doing something to make a dollar (I hope). Some folks might find being a greeter at Wal-Mart a better paying job.
Now, BJ, how eager would YOU be to go back to the former employer who fired you? Remember as you think about it that TMO doesn't have a great track record on long-term formats.
"I was wondering if TMO will buy back the 92.7 signal from Univision."
Why and for how much? Let's see: Univision paid SIXTY FOUR MILLION DOLLARS for the little class A from Garden City. Stupid money. What was the figure - 64X billing?? Now TMO should GIVE IT BACK? Ain't gonna happen, dude. Could it? Yeah, if Univision walked away from the station, threw the keys and the license into the transmitter shack and left the door unlocked...then I could see John C. going back.
"The 92.7 signal that is a simulcast for the WCAA is not doing to good because of the rapid format change to keep the ratings up"
Attempts to parse that statement made my head hurt, but I think you were trying to say that the WCAA/WZAA simulcast is not doing well in the ratings, right?
Hope this helps.
Bottom line: Ain't gonna happen.
