I know it has 2 translators. I also know the costs for the TX for a 6000 watt class A costs 'just a tad more than an 28 watt LPFM, and the two 10W FX's. Hell, the tower rent alone for the 107.1 site would require Radio X to have it be a commercial station (which, IMO, would be perfectly fine). I am 500% for Radio X succeeding, as it is the best thing to hit LI airwaves since all the 'local mom and pop' stations got bought out, but the changes of Radio X going on 107.1 are about as good as Paul Sidney flipping the stereo pilot on WLNG! Then again, I don't know the owner's finances; For all I know Scott won the lotto last yesterday and signed a contract to buy with TMO this afternoon!

I think it is much simpler than that - TPTB at TMO probably decided that the NeoSnooze format wasn't working. If ya have something that works, ya don't mess with it. They messed with it, saw it DIDN't work, and fixed it (somewhat).
I, quite seriously, would love to see Radio-X show up on the Arbitrons - I think it can, and would, give alot of the commercial stations a run for their money ratings wise. Does anyone who has the 'subscriber-only' ratings know if it showed up? It will never show up on the 12+ - Arbitron only publishes LPFM's on the "Maximi$er" and the "Media Professional" subscriptions =(.
Happy Holidays to all, and to a prosperous New Year for all *local* stations & staff.
